HOVE WINS FOR ‘SWIFT MESSI’ AND ‘LISTRY ACE’

Swift Messi  – Another Hove Win for Lionel!

With 44 wins between them our two ‘senior’ runners in the D2 Sprint at 3-07 completed a 1-2 for the kennel after proving too strong for the four ‘youngsters’ in opposition who were all looking for their first career win! SWIFT MESSI was the 5/2 second favourite and led at the second bend staying on well to hold off his kennel mate Ballymac Dainty who ran on well for 2nd place. The September 2009 son of Hondo Black is owned by the Glum Sinners syndicate and he clocked 16.75 (-10) 16.65 calculated when winning his 26th race at Hove! Ballymac Dainty is in good form and she clocked 16.84 (-10) 16.74 calculated when beaten just over one length by the winner.

LISTRY ACE showed promise on her Hove debut and got off the mark at the third attempt when winning the A9 at 3-48. The October 2012 daughter of Kinloch Brae showed good early pace and disputed the lead throughout while keeping on well to hold off the Dean Childs trained Fabulous Sienna by a short-head! The 5/2 co. favourite of three owned by Norah McEllistrim clocked 31.41 (-20) 31.21 calculated when winning her first race at Hove! Lobelia was sent off as one of the 5/2 co. favourites but was crowded at the second bend and she clocked 31.61 (-20) 31.41 calculated when finishing in 6th place just under three lengths behind the winner.

How Our Other Runners Fared

Glenvale Stevie has been running well and he held every chance when finishing 2nd in the D1 Sprint at 2-08. ‘Stevie’ clocked 16.62 (-10) 16.52 calculated when beaten one and a half lengths by the Wendy Short trained winner How Zat. Droopys Rives due to run from trap 1 was withdrawn and was a non-runner.

Our two runners in the A6 at 5-07 both found trouble in running and were well beaten by the Ken Tester trained winner Edmington. Speak Out Lilly was baulked at the first bend and clocked 31.20 (-40) 30.80 calculated when finishing in 4th place just over five lengths behind the winner. Kennel mate Swift Debbie was baulked at the first bend but also suffered crowding at the third! She finished in 6th place clocking 31.42 (-40) 31.02 calculated and was beaten eight lengths by the winner.

Fanore Breeze ran well last week on her return from seasonal rest and put in another good effort today when finishing 3rd in the D2 Sprint at 5-56. She held every chance clocking a decent 16.79 (-20) 16.59 calculated when beaten one and a half lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Maketherounds.

Droopys Tomford  –  Running well!

Grisedale Girl has run well in two D1 graded races, including a 2nd on Wednesday, and she will appreciate the drop in grade for the D2 Sprint at 7-31. The Norah Mac Racing Clubs Droopys Tomford is running well and the September 13 pup was a close up 3rd in this grade on Wednesday!

Droopys Tequila has gone well in her trials and makes her Hove debut in the A3 at 8-02.

Sizzlers Eagle is a very decent sprinter who has won 7 of his 12 races! A winner last time he lines up for the D1 Sprint at 9-07.

Data Olly has been added to the card and the June 13 son of Head Bound makes his Hove debut in the A6 at 9-24.

Princess Jetta returns from seasonal rest and runs in the D2 Sprint at 9-57. Kennel mate Fairhill Frankie is also in the line up but his last win was back in December!
