No Joy For Us At Hove This Wednesday!

There was a dead-heat in the opening D2 Sprint at 2-08 where the Dean Childs trained Coolavanny Trigg and the Maria Collins trained Shirleys Whiskey shared the spoils! Our ‘pair’ were both sent off the 10/1 outsiders! Cellini suffered crowding at the first bend and clocked 16.67 when finishing in 4th place just under two lengths behind the joint winners! Fairhill Frankie was slow away and finished a further two lengths behind his kennel mate clocking 16.87 in 6th place!
Mist Of Time didn’t get the best of runs in the A6 at 2-27. She was baulked and forced to check wide at the first bend! Our 9/2 chance was beaten six lengths, by the Wendy Short trained winner Starchill Ash, and clocked 31.17 when finishing in 5th place.
The Norah Mac Racing Clubs Classy Molly was sent off a 7/1 shot for the A7 at 4-47 and despite being in good form with 2 wins from her last 4 runs she couldn’t deliver the goods today! Crowded on the run-in ‘Molly’ clocked 31.05 when finishing 6th beaten just under six lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Ruthless Warrior.
Our last runner of the day was Ballymac Dainty who was sent off the 7/4 favourite for the A6 at 5-22. But she was unable to send the ‘team’ home with a winner when finishing in 6th place! Ballymac Dainty was crowded at the 3/4 mark and clocked 31.12 when beaten four lengths by the Wendy Short trained winner Droopys Port.

The Mick McCrory and Debbie Williams owned Badmoonrising needs a first three finish to qualify from the William Hill Greyhound Derby 3rd Round Heat 2 on Saturday and secure a place in the quarter-finals of the competition! It will not be an easy task with the Matt Dartnell trained Droopys Nidge and Paul Youngs Jaytee Berlin unbeaten so far in this years Derby! Add to those Pat Buckley’s talented Irish pair Paradise Maverik and Coolavanny Jap. For good measure Teds Last completes the line up for a man you can never dismiss in this event – Charlie Lister who has trained 7 Derby winners!
