HEAT WINS FOR ‘FAIRHILL FRANKIE’ AND ‘BALLYMAC CHINDIT’

AND ‘SIZZLERS EAGLE’ JOINS THEM IN THE FINAL!

‘Fairhill Frankie’ and ‘Ballymac Chindit’ made it a great night for the Norah Mac kennel with Heat wins in the CORAL CHRISTMAS MAIDEN SPRINT competition! And with ‘Sizzlers Eagle’ qualifying with a 2nd place finish our kennel has a strong hand in next weeks Final!

FAIRHILL FRANKIE has made a good impression in his twelve runs at Hove winning twice in D2 grade and once at D1 level! He stepped up last night for his first Open Race success when winning Heat 1 of the Coral Christmas Maiden Sprint. Blessed with good early pace the April 2012 son of Droopys Scolari put that gift to good use and led all the way to beat his kennel mate Sizzlers Eagle by one and a quarter lengths. Owned by his trainer Norah McEllistrim Fairhill Frankie clocked 16.59 (-10) 16.49 calculated when winning, his 4th race at Hove and, a place in next weeks Final. Also going through is Sizzlers Eagle who was a brave 2nd after being crowded from the first bend to the 1/4 mark! He was sent off the 7/4 favourite and clocked 16.70 (-10) 16.60 calculated in the runners-up spot!

Ballymac Chindit  –  A First Open Race Win!

BALLYMAC CHINDIT seems to enjoy the sea-air at Hove having now won two of his three races there! The December 2012 son of Ace Hi Rumble followed up last weeks D1 success by taking Heat 3 of the Coral Christmas Maiden Sprint. Sent off the 5/2 joint favourite Ballymac Chindit was crowded at the first bend but he took up the running at the second and went on to beat the Frank Gray trained Hot Cloverhill by 1/2 a length clocking 16.92 (-10) 16.82 calculated. This was a first Open Race success for the Debbie Williams and Mick McCrory owned runner who goes into next weeks Final. Abbeys Zenyatta was a shade unlucky not to qualify having been crowded on the run-in she clocked 17.11 (-10) 17.01 calculated in 4th place but was only two lengths behind the winner!

Millroad Jessy was unable to make it ‘four’ in the Final after finishing 5th in Heat 2 of the Coral Christmas Maiden Sprint. ‘Jessy’ was slow away and clocked 16.82 (-10) 16.72 calculated when beaten four lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Key Point.

Mineola Prof was crowded on the run-up and badly baulked at the first bend in Heat 2 of the Coral Christmas Maiden and was never in it from that point. A 10/1 chance he clocked 31.16 (-10) 31.06 calculated when beaten thirteen lengths by the Kevin Hutton trained winner Jolly Redeye.
