WEDNESDAY HOVE REPORT AND FRIDAY HOVE RUNNERS
NOMINATORS NEEDED FOR APRIL B.G.O.A. NIGHT!
Wednesday 25th March 2015 – HOVE Report
The opening D2 Sprint at 2-08 was a close affair and despite our two runners finishing in 4th and 5th place they were both only beaten around one length! The race was won by Due A Change who is trained by Ken Tester. Ballymac Dainty was slow away and clocked 16.95 (-10) 16.85 calculated finishing in 4th place when beaten just one length by the winner! Kennel mate Sizzlers Swallow was a further short-head behind in 5th place clocking 16.96 (-10) 16.86 calculated after being baulked at the first bend!
Our two runners in the A9 at 2-27 finished in 2nd and 3rd place but in effect were beaten a long way by the Derek Knight trained winner Cinematic. In fairness to our two runners they both suffered crowding at the first bend! Lobelia clocked 30.95 (-20) 30.75 calculated when finishing in 2nd place six lengths behind the winner. Sizzlers Big Boy clocked 30.99 (-20) 30.79 calculated in 3rd place and was beaten six and a half lengths by the winner.
The Norah Mac Racing Clubs Classy Molly was a beaten favourite when going down by a neck on her last outing and there was more agony today for club members as she was beaten a short-head in the A10 at 2-47. Sent off the 5/2 co-favourite ‘Molly’ was crowded at the first bend but ran on well making her challenge on the run-in but couldn’t get past the Jason Heath trained winner Swift Madonna. Classy Molly clocked 31.24 (-20) 31.04 calculated finishing in 2nd place!
Listry Ace was up in grade for the A8 at 3-07 but was baulked at the first bend and finally well beaten by the winner Clever Buddy who is trained by Wendy Short. Listry Ace finished in 6th place clocking 31.40 (-20) 31.20 calculated and was beaten just over eight lengths by the winner.
Watch Matt held every chance in the D2 Sprint at 3-48 when finishing 3rd behind the Doreen Walsh trained winner Cabela Holly. Watch Matt clocked 16.82 (-10) 16.72 calculated when beaten just over two lengths by the winner. Kennel mate Fanore Breeze was held up with crowding at the first bend and finished in 5th place clocking 16.84 (-10) 16.74 calculated just under three lengths behind the winner.
Mineola Prof is a pretty consistent performer at a high level and put in another good effort in the A3 at 5-22. He was crowded at the first bend but managed to finish 3rd behind the Claude Gardiner trained winner American Werwolf. Mineola Prof clocked a decent 30.47 (-20) 30.27 calculated when beaten one and a half lengths by the winner.
Baby Sky is still gaining full fitness after seasonal rest but she was not helped in the A6 at 5-38 when crowded at the first and fourth bends and just for good measure again on the run-in! She clocked 30.95 (-20) 30.75 calculated finishing in 3rd place when beaten three lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Moment Of Truth.
Droopys Tequila was badly baulked at the first bend in the A4 at 5-56 and the September 13 pup was unable to recover the lost ground and was beaten nine lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Quivers Reef. Droopys Tequila clocked 31.11 (-20) 30.91 calculated finishing in 4th place.

Friday 27th March 2015 – HOVE Runners
Viscount Rambler was well beaten in a Sittingbourne 480 metre Open race last time and now lines up in a graded D1 Sprint at 2-08.
June 13 pup Data Olly is given a drop in grade after finishing 4th on his Hove debut and the youngster runs in the A7 at 3-07.
Swift Messi – Back in D1 grade!
Veteran Swift Messi goes up in grade and runs in the D1 Sprint at 3-28 after his D2 success last Friday! ‘Lionel’ has made almost 170 appearances in his career and has 26 wins on his card!
Windy Warrior has struggled to get a clear run lately and has been a beaten favourite on three recent outings! He runs in the A9 at 3-48 with connections hoping for a change in fortune!

By way of further explanation of “Nominations”. For £5.00 you “own” one of the dogs in the twelve races on the card of the 25th April 2015, if your nominated dog wins you will receive a small prize, If you buy 6 nominations you could own all six dogs in one race and guarantee a prize, have six individual nominations in six races or any combination, just tell us how you want the split and it will be done!
Hopefully we will get all 76 dogs nominated in advance and then we will let people know what traps they have in which races, and may be update to actual named dogs when the card is out. Names will go in the racecard, but presentations will not be on the track. It would be nice if people attend, but it is not compulsory.
There will be a sheet at Norah’s kennel to sign from Sunday. Or people can contact me.
