Important info for Norah’s last night!!!
The Wimbledon executive have kindly given Norah use of the executive box under the old main stand. So this location will be where our gathering will take place.
It’s a self catering affair so if anyone feels like bringing a small dish of some kind or a few beers – feel free, though some catering has been organised.
Norah is looking forward to signing off in the company of her friends, owners and supporters. Fingers crossed we can have a winner or two.
Trials (Hove)
Lenny (Droopys Leonard) did little wrong in clocking a 30.34 (calculated) over the standard 515metres. A time which would have stood up competitively in many of the evenings’ Open races. He also again showed pretty sharp early and so he’ll also have strong claims over the 475metre trip, where the bend comes up sooner than in the standard.
Lenny has now graded in so he could be competing on the Nevill Road sands next weekend and is expected to be one of our club’s first runners with Woody (Fleetwood Rocker). Our Blue managed to find trouble throughout his final trial so managed only 30.87 (calculated) – a time far short of his best. Maybe the handicapper will be lenient on our metatarsally challenged lad!
