WINNER

A winner of 5 sprints at Hove SIZZLERS APOLLO clocked 30.86 calculated in a solo Trial over 515 metres on the 8th August and was back up in trip for an A8 last Sunday. Showing good early pace the September 13 son of Droopys Scolari led at the first bend when beating Glencorbry Cara by a short-head! Sizzlers Apollo clocked 30.77 (Normal) and was up in grade for the A7 at 5-22. Sent off the 9/4 favourite he showed good early pace and was soon clear when beating the Derek Knight trained Maireads Mist by six lengths! Owned by Dave & Joy Cook Sizzlers Apollo clocked a very impressive 30.48 (-20) 30.28 calculated when winning his 7th race at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared

DROOPYS RIVES was a 4/1 chance for a D2 Sprint last Friday and despite suffering crowding at the first bend the July 13 son of Westmead Hawk was only beaten just over a length by Swift Batten. Clocking 16.75 calculated ‘River’ finished in 4th place and was made 3/1 co-favourite for the D2 Sprint at 2-08. Slow away and crowded at the first bend he was always in mid division. Clocking 16.92 (Normal) ‘River’ finished in 4th place beaten just under two lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Roses Risk.

TIMBERLEE LASS was crowded at the first bend and baulked at the third but rallied to lead on the run-in when beating Nods Lucy by 3/4 of a length in A11 grade on the 11th August! The April 14 daughter of Blackstone Gene clocked 31.46 (Normal) when winning her 3rd race at Hove and was sent off 3/1 joint-favourite for the A11 at 2-27. Slow away and crowded at the first and fourth bends she clocked 31.58 (Normal) when finishing in 6th place beaten five and a half lengths by Ellaha Diamond who is trained by Jason Heath.

KILCOMMON was quick away and led to the run-in clocking 31.02 calculated when finishing 3rd beaten just under two lengths by his kennel mate Baby Gold in an A8 last Friday. The August 13 son of Vans Escalade was a 5/1 shot for the A8 at 3-07. Quick away he led from the first bend to the 3/4 mark where he suffered crowding and clocking 31.44 (-10) 31.34 calculated he finished in 6th place beaten six and a half lengths by the Maria Collins trained winner Swift Holly.

SATELLITE FEVER ran on well clocking a decent 30.46 (Normal) when beating Sharpe by a head in A6 grade on the 4th August! The February 12 son of College Causeway was up in grade for an A5 on the 11th August and again ran on well to clock 30.53 (Normal) when finishing 2nd beaten just a ‘neck’ by Isaacs Swift Blu. A 7/2 chance ‘Tommy’ was slow away in the A5 at 3-28 and after suffering crowding at the first and fourth bends he clocked 31.14 (-10) 31.04 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten six lengths by Miomi who is trained by Seamus Cahill.

SPIDERMAN was a 7/1 chance for a D1 Sprint on the 10th August and he led at the first bend when beating Jackals Pavlova by 1/2 a length! The June 14 son of Razldazl Jayfkay clocked 16.48 (Normal) when winning his 7th race at Hove and was a 5/2 chance for the D1 Sprint at 4-27. Quick away he led from the first bend to the run-in and was beaten just a ‘neck’ by the Wendy Short trained winner Starchill Oak. Clocking 16.65 (-10) 16.55 calculated Spiderman had to settle for 2nd place! Kennel mate ANOTHER ME was badly baulked at the first bend after making a slow start on his comeback from injury in a D1 Sprint last Saturday. Clocking 16.87 (Normal) the February 14 son of Shaneboy Lee finished in 5th place beaten just under five lengths by Jumeirah Maximus. A 7/1 shot today he found ‘trouble’ in running and clocked 16.88 (-10) 16.78 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten three lengths by the winner.

GLENVALE STEVIE was a 7/2 chance for a D1 Sprint on the 10th August and he ran another solid race. Always close up the November 11 son of Paddys Flame clocked 16.69 (Normal) when finishing 3rd beaten just under two lengths by Swift Banzai and he lined up for the D1 Sprint at 5-56. Sent off a 9/2 chance he was never involved after being badly baulked at the first bend and clocking 16.98 (-10) 16.88 calculated ‘Stevie’ finished in 6th place beaten just over six lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Forest Fuseler.
