‘GRANSON LUCA’ MAKES IT 3 WINS FROM HIS LAST 4 RUNS!

Wednesday 20th August HOVE Report

Winner

GRANSON LUCA was our only winner today. The February 2012 son of Blackstone Gene was winning for the third time in his last four outings when taking the last race on the card the A9 at 6-11. Owned by Ron Stainer he led to the 3/4 mark but was impeded by the Claude Gardiner trained Mistaken For You the eventual runner-up. ‘Luca’ came back to win by one and a quarter lengths with the 2nd disqualified for deliberate interference. Grandson Luca clocked 30.95 (+10) 31.05 calculated when winning for the 9th time at Hove. Kennel mate Speak Out Lily was sent off the 2/1 favourite but was baulked at the first bend and badly baulked at the 1/4 mark before finishing in 6th place clocking 31.72 (+10) 31.82 calculated nine lengths behind the winner.

How Our Other Runners Fared

Farloe Scolari was made the 7/4 favourite for the D2 sprint at 2-08 but a slow break and crowding at the first bend cost his supporters as he could only manage 3rd place clocking 16.76 (+5) 16.81 calculated four and a half lengths behind the Paul Garland trained Slaheny Crystal.

Glenvale Rosie stepped in as a late replacement for Glenvale Paddy in the A10 at 2-27 and although she held every chance she was well beaten in 6th place! ‘Rosie’ clocked 31.27 (+10) 31.37 calculated just over six lengths behind the winner Coolview Kaylah who is trained by Maria Collins.

Droopys Bertha has been running well lately and again went close to winning in the A7 at 3-28. Sent off the 9/4 favourite ‘Bertha’ ran on well to finish one length behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Lagile Lucy clocking 30.67 (+10) 30.77 calculated in 2nd place!

Despite making a quick break in the A7 at 3-48 Sizzlers Magpie finished in 6th place! She was beaten three lengths by the Dean Childs trained Bersheda Hawk clocking 30.87 (+10) 30.97 calculated.

Monleek Diamond was done no favours when baulked at the third bend in the A3 at 4-08. She clocked 30.77 (+10) 30.87 calculated in 5th place when beaten nine lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Killorane Comet.

Avit On Elsie was not beaten that far in the A11 at 4-47. The 5/1 shot held every chance when beaten one and a half lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained Psycho Jet clocking 31.12 (+10) 31.22 calculated in 4th place.

The consistent Graiguenoe Royal usually runs his race and it was the same again today when he was 3rd beaten two and a half lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Ballyregan Shana. ‘Graigy’ was crowded at bends one and two in the A6 at 5-22 when clocking 30.43 (+10) 30.53 calculated.

Lobelia was a 14/1 shot for the A5 at 5-38 and after crowding and checking wide at the first bend she was any price! Lobelia clocked 30.89 (+10) 30.99 calculated over eight lengths behind the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Murlens Stout finishing in 6th place.

TEN RUNNERS ON THE FRIDAY MORNING HOVE CARD!

Friday 22nd August HOVE Runners

Causeiloveyou hit the rails and was baulked at the first bend on his latest run. He will need to keep his nerve with some fast starters in the A3 at 11-07.

Ballymac Dainty was a winning favourite latest run and is up in grade for the A5 at 11-23. While Mineola Prof  should get more competitive this time now put down a grade.

Intayacynthia was well beaten on her latest outing but was in great form previous. She will get involved in the finish of the A3 at 11-37 if she gets a clear run.

The Norah Mac Racing Club are looking for two wins to reach the 100 winner mark and could be on target with Horse Outside who should be thereabouts in the A6 at 11-51.

Swift Messi blew his big chance on TV last Thursday when he was crowded out! No surprise to see him bounce back in the A5 at 12-24.

On Your Lonesome and Release The Ace are both up in grade for A8 wins on their latest outings and they should get competitive in the A7 at 12-39.

A short head winner and a short head 2nd in his last two runs Coolscart Hawk would have a good chance in the A6 at 1-44 with a clear run!

The drop in grade for the A7 at 1-58 should help Princess Jetta get back to winning ways for her Bermudan based owners!
