LEATHEMS DESIRE – Pup full of promise!
With LEATHEMS DESIRE stepping up to 515 metres for the first time Norah McEllistrim made him her ‘bet of the night’ on Racing Post Greyhound TV last night! The June 2013 son of Head Bound did not let her down and produced a stunning run to win the GALA CORAL PUPPIES Open race clocking a very fast 29.95 (-10) 29.85 calculated rewarding supporters with a 3/1 starting price. He followed up last weeks Maiden Open win over 475 metres when taking up the running at the third bend he stayed on well to beat the Paul Young trained 2/1 joint favourite Jaytee Texas by 3 lengths! The John Gardner trained Coolavanny Gooch was the other 2/1 joint favourite and he was a further length and a quarter away in 3rd place! Owned by the Norah Mac Racing Club ‘Winston’ was winning for the 6th time at Hove and was the Club 114th winner!

CAUSE OF JUSTICE is in excellent form and made it 3 wins from his last 5 runs when staying on strongly to win the BRIGHTONDOGS.CO.UK STANDARD Open race! The January 2012 son of College Causeway was sent off a 5/1 chance and led on the run-in to beat the Dean Childs trained Teejaysblackhawk by 3/4 of a length! Paul Young’s Jaytee India was a further 1/2 length away in 3rd place. Owned by the Jury Of Ten Syndicate ‘Alfie’ clocked a very decent 30.14 (-10) 30.04 calculated when winning his 15th race at Hove! He also has an Open race win at Swindon on his card! Kennel mate Sizzlerscheyenne ran well in 4th place. He led to the run-in but was beaten just over a length by the winner clocking 30.25 (-10) 30.15 calculated.

DROP IN GRADE GETS ‘PRINCESS PATI’ BACK TO WINNING WAYS!
PRINCESS PATI took advantage of the drop in grade to gain her first win since last August! She has raced at the highest level and is often placed but the June 2011 daughter of Eden Brett had not managed to get her head in front! Sent off the 2/1 favourite she justified those odds with success in the A5 at 8-50. After a slow break she railed well and leading from the 3rd bend she held on for a head victory over the Jason Heath trained runner-up Southern Saint. Owned by Diane Benson she clocked 30.70 (-10) 30.60 calculated when winning for the 8th time at Hove!
How Our Other Runners Fared
Fanore Breeze was making her Hove debut in the D2 Sprint at 7-31 and showed enough to suggest she won’t be long before winning! She was crowded on the run-in after disputing the lead early. She clocked 16.88 (-5) 16.83 calculated finishing in 3rd place beaten two and a half lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Guinness Solo. Kennel mate Watch Matt was slow away and crowded at the first bend. He clocked 17.09 (-5) 17.04 calculated finishing in 5th place five lengths behind the winner.
The Brightondogs.co.uk Sprint Open race in which Sizzlers Eagle ran was declared Void due to late opening of the starting traps!
