CLASSY MOLLY – Club’s 99th Winner!
The Norah Mac Racing Club have been stuttering through the nervous nineties in their quest for the 100th winner since the Clubs formation in March 2011. Todays win of CLASSY MOLLY puts the Club on the 99th winner mark and all eyes will now be on Hanover Lady in the D2 sprint on Hove’s Card this Wednesday! Hanover Lady is the Clubs most prolific winner with 24 wins and it would be a just result is she could bring up the 100th win! Classy Molly has more than paid her way and this was a 13th Hove win for the September 2011 daughter of Duke Special. Sent off the 7/4 favourite for the A6 at 12-41 ‘Molly’ was crowded on the run-up but showed her strength to lead on the run-in and she clocked 31.01 (-30) 30.71 calculated beating the Dean Childs trained Bersheda Hawk by a length and a quarter. Kennel mate Watch Matt was the 8/1 outsider but ran well in 3rd place. He was slow away but led at the third bend to the run-in clocking 31.16 (-30) 30.86 calculated just a 1/4 of a length behind the runner-up!
FARLOE SCOLARI is in good form winning three times from his last seven runs. He picked up another D2 sprint when winning the opener at 11-11. Owned by Dave and Julia Reynolds he showed good early pace and led at the first bend and ran on well to beat the Derek Knight trained Maketherounds (5/4 favourite) by one and a quarter lengths. Sent off the 5/2 second favourite the April 2010 son of Droopys Scolari clocked 16.76 (-15) 16.61 calculated when winning for the 19th time at Hove! It was a 22nd career win as he has wins at Shelbourne Park, Dundalk and Longford on his Irish card! The Racing Clubs Hanover Lady shaped well on her return from seasonal rest to suggest her turn could be soon! ‘Wendy’ clocked 16.97 (-15) 16.82 calculated finishing in 4th place another length and a quarter behind the runner-up.
AVITE BECKY has been sensational for her connections throughout the last two months winning four of her last seven races! Owned by the Comebackin Club the August 2011 daughter of Rumble Impact was quick away and always led in the A7 at 11-57 beating the Claude Gardiner trained Other Bishop by 1/2 a length clocking 30.86 (-30) 30.56 calculated. This was a 9th Hove win for the 5/2 favourite!
How Our Other Runners Fared
Crowding at the start may have cost Cellini a win today! Sent off a 7/1 shot she nearly took advantage of the drop in grade in the A4 at 1-28. She went down fighting beaten one and a quarter lengths by the Wendy Short trained Droopys Johnny clocking 30.65 (-30) 30.35 calculated in 2nd place!
Boskill Breeze is improving and went very close to winning the A8 at 1-44. She was crowded at the first bend and ran on well but was denied victory by the Claude Gardiner trained Tyrur Celena by just a head! Boskill Breeze clocked 30.95 (-30) 30.65 calculated in 2nd place.
Ballymac Benefit finished 3rd in the A5 at 1-58 but was beaten less than a length! Quick away she held every chance clocking 31.00 (-30) 30.70 calculated behind the winner Tyrur Floyd who is trained by Jason Heath.
Blazing Swallow was given a rough passage in the A7 at 11-42. She was quick away but suffered crowding at the first bend, the 3/4 mark, and on the run-in! She finished 6th beaten six lengths by the Jason Heath trained Dacent Rita clocking 31.31 (-30) 31.01 calculated.
