GLENVALE STEVIE AND LOCHYS BLUE BOY SHOW UP WELL IN THE SPRINT

BUT – CLUXTONS FREE HAD FLOWN!

Thursday 24th April HOVE Report             (All Races  Normal Going)

We had two runners in the £50 FREE BET AT CORAL.CO.UK Open Race sprint at 6-28 but they were left fighting for places as the even money favourite Cluxtons Free (16.09) trained at Monmore by Chris Allsopp bolted up. Glenvale Stevie came out best of our pair running on well after a sluggish start. Stevie clocked 16.48 in the runners-up spot almost five lengths behind the winner. Lochys Blue Boy ran middle to wide and held every chance finishing a neck behind his kennel mate clocking 16.51 in 3rd place.

Sizzlers Big Boy was outclassed in the CORAL HOME OF THE PRICE BOMB Open Stayers Race at 7-04 and was sent off the 66/1 outsider. He was always in rear clocking 42.82 over the 695 metres. The race was won by the 4/6 favourite Droopys Hawaii (41.23) who is trained by Barrie Draper at Sheffield. 

Athlacca Olympic has been running well on the graded scene at Hove but he was unable to raise his game in the CORAL HOME OF THE HIGH STREET PRICE PROMISE Open Race over 515 metres at 10-00. Despite showing early pace and leading at the second bend he faded to be 5th clocking 30.58 beaten just under seven lengths by the Bruno Berwick (Coventry) trained winner Rebellious Khan.(30.04)

SIX RUNNERS SATURDAY & FIVE RUNNERS SUNDAY AT HOVE THIS WEEKEND

Saturday 26th April HOVE Runners                     (Subject to Alteration)

Avite Becky lines up for the Knicker Bocker Chase Trophy Race (A8) at 8-02. She was a beaten favourite on her latest run after being badly baulked. Doesn’t always get home over the 515 metres so needs a decent lead.

We have two runners in the Di’s Nifty Fifty Birthday Stakes Trophy Race (A5) at 8-18. Lobelia is running well and was only narrowly beaten in this grade on her latest run. Kaiyas Shakira was a very good winner on her first run back from a long lay off. She is up in grade for that but likely to improve further.

The Norah Mac Racing Club is represented by Classy Molly in the A7 at 9-24. ‘Molly’ is up in grade after her win last Friday. Victory for her would bring the Clubs total wins to 90.

Mikeys Guest is up in grade for his latest win and is on a three-timer. He is in good form and should run well in the A4 at 10-13.

Collinstown View is running well and would have a decent chance if getting a good break and a clear run in the A3 at 10-30.

Sizzlers Beauty has been runner-up in her last three races where she has been a narrowly beaten favourite each time. Connections will be hoping she can go one place better in the A5 at 11-28.

We have two runners lining up for the A5 at 11-42. Ballymac Benefit was a beaten favourite in this grade last time and Swift Debbie is up in grade for her win last Saturday!

Forget the latest run of Watch Matt as he was very slow away! He would have a fair chance in the A4 at 12-12 on his previous form!

Graiguenoe Royal is in reasonable form and the drop in grade will give him a chance in the A6 at 1-12.
