No Wins On The Hove Lunch-Time Card!
BUT ‘GLAISE SPICE’ – ‘MINEOLA PROF’ & ‘HOLLANDS BULLET’ ALL GO CLOSE!
30th August 2015 – HOVE Report
Glaise Spice won a D2 sprint on the 1st August and didn’t run badly in a Sprint Open next time! The October 13 son of Crash had suffered crowding on his last two outings but he went mighty close to adding a second win to his card when finishing a close 3rd in the D2 Sprint at 11-11. He led briefly on the run-in but was crowded close home and clocked 16.78 (-10) 16.68 calculated when beaten 3/4 of a length by the winner Sister Tootsie who is trained by Seamus Cahill. Lobelia came in for the withdrawn Cellini (Season) and was sent off the 14/1 outsider but the July 11 daughter of Vans Escalade was crowded at the first bend and clocked 17.01 (-10) 16.91 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten just over three lengths by the winner.
Fanore Breeze has been running well since stepping up to 515 metres finishing 2nd twice and winning in good style on the 12th August. The December 12 daughter of Crash was a beaten 2/1 favourite when just failing to get up by 1/2 a length on her latest outing and she was again made 5/2 favourite for A6 at 11-42. Unfortunately she was badly baulked at the first bend and despite clocking 31.15 (-20) 30.95 calculated when finishing in 5th place she was only beaten just over two lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Baran Seattle.
The Norah Mac Racing Clubs Classy Molly completed her ‘century’ of races when finishing 3rd on her latest run! The September 11 daughter of Duke Special was beaten just over two lengths after being baulked at a vital stage and sadly it was a similar story for ‘Molly’ in the A9 at 12-12. She was slow away and baulked at the third bend and the 3/4 mark before finishing in 6th place clocking 31.51 (-20) 31.31 calculated when beaten six lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Frankie Blitz.
Mineola Prof has been well beaten in three runs since returning from injury but the May 12 son of College Causeway, a 9 times winner at Hove, looks like he could be finding his form! He won a three-dog trial in 30.61 sec on Monday and he ran well in the A5 at 12-41 today! He challenged from the second bend to the fourth and clocked 30.61 (-10) 30.51 calculated when finishing in 3rd place beaten one and a half lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Maireads Secure. Kennel mate Baby Gold was a good winner of an A6 clocking 30.21 sec on the 5th August. But the February 13 daughter of Droopys Scolari has been beaten in two runs up in A5 grade! She tends to find trouble and was crowded on the run-up and at the first and second bends! Baby Gold clocked 30.81 (-10) 30.71 calculated in 4th place when beaten four lengths by the winner.
Hollands Bullet has been running better than his form figures suggest! The April 13 son of Timor Blue wasn’t beaten far when 6th behind kennel mate Ballymac Chindit on the 12th August. He clocked a ‘fair’ 30.54 sec when beaten just over three lengths on his next outing and he was only beaten one length when finishing 4th on his last run! He ran on well clocking 30.60 (-10) 30.50 calculated to finish 2nd in the A5 at 12-58 beaten just over two lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Crackaway Drama and may well have been closer if making a better start!
