SUNDAY HOVE TREBLE PUTS ‘TEAM MAC’ BACK AMONG THE WINNERS!

Having gone four race days without a winner its fair to think the kennel confidence in the dogs form could be affected but speaking to Norah before racing today she was confident our luck would change and the winners would flow again! Norah said “It’s not like the dogs are running badly! We’ve just been touched off in quite a few races getting caught on the line!”  Of course Norah has seen it all before and her judgement was spot on as our team of runners sent to Hove responded with a brilliant Treble!

Sunday 18th May HOVE Report

WINNERS

COLLINSTOWN VIEW was our first winner on the day when he won Heat 1 of the Owners Bonus Series A3 at 11-57 to qualify for next Saturdays Final. The January 2012 son of Hondo Black was slow away and crowded on the run-up but ran on well to hold the challenge of the Wayne Wrighting trained Woodmancote Jet who qualified for the final in 2nd place. Owned by the Collinstown View Syndicate the 7/2 shot clocked 30.56 (-20) 30.36 calculated when getting home by a head! This was a 6th career win for Collinstown View who has won five races at Hove and one at Limerick.

PRINCESS JETTA had gone three months without winning but has now won two races in a week! The May 2011 daughter of Ace Hi Rumble followed up last weeks win in a sprint by taking the A8 at 1-12. Her enthusiastic Bermudan based owners Lisa and Lee Beauchamp will be delighted with this second win of the week and will no doubt have been shouting her home in their “Seahorse’s” betting shop in the capital Hamilton! Stepping back up to 515 metres Princess Jetta was quick away and racing middle just held on to beat the Derek Knight trained Skydini by a short head! Lee and his ‘regulars’ will have had some of the 7/2 as ‘Jetta’ clocked 31.00 (-20) 30.80 calculated when winning for the ninth time at Hove!

GLENVALE PADDY mostly pays his way for his owners Bob Boswell, Paula Boswell, Krystyna Polubinski and Debbie Williams and he scored for the 17th time in his career when winning the A9 at 1-44. The August 2010 son of Droopys Kewell railed well and disputed the lead from the second bend. He stayed on well to hold the challenge of the Claude Gardiner trained Hovex Causeway to win by a head! ‘Paddy’ clocked 30.81 (-10) 30.71 calculated and wasn’t unfancied as he was sent of the 5/2 second favourite!

How Our Other Runners Fared

Sporting Tracey ran in Heat 2 of the Owners Bonus Series A3 at 12-12 but she failed to qualify for the final although she could feel a little hard done by because despite finishing 5th in her heat she clocked a faster time than Collinstown View did in his Heat! ‘Tracey’ was quick away and clocked 30.53 (-20) 30.33 calculated when beaten just under three lengths by the Dean Childs trained winner Cappo Tornado.

Intayacynthia is slowly coming to the boil and a win can’t be far away! She ran a blinder today when beaten just over 1/2 a length in the A6 at 11-42. Racing rails to middle she held every chance behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Islas Giovanni. Our 8/1 shot clocked 30.78 (-20) 30.58 calculated and looks one to follow!

On Your Lonesome was added to the card overnight and ran in the D2 sprint at 11-11. Slow away ‘On Your Lonesome’ clocked 17.25 (-15) 17.10 calculated in 6th place when beaten five lengths by the Maria Collins trained Toots Too.

Ballymac Benefit finished 4th in the A5 at 12-58 but was only beaten just over one length! She railed well and challenged at the fourth bend and clocked 30.81 (-20) 30.61 calculated behind the winner Flat Out Fagan who is trained by Jason Heath.

We had two runners in the A5 at 12-41 and Watch Matt fared best of our pair. He was sent off a little unfancied at 6/1 but finished 2nd beaten just 1/2 a length! Watch Matt missed his break and was crowded at the fourth bend and could be called a shade unlucky clocking 31.04 (-20) 30.84 calculated behind the Seamus Cahill winner Power Drive. Sizzlers Beauty was our other runner in this event and sadly she has picked up an injury. She was sent off the 6/4 favourite and led to the run-in. She checked at the 3/4 mark and again on the run-in and was 5th (30.93 calculated) beaten one a half lengths but finished lame.

Assistant Trainer Gemma Byford reported that Sizzlers Beauty has damaged a tendon at the back of her wrist and will be checked by Norahs vet but stated she is happy and comfortable!
