Potential superstar? And to Nov 4th…
Review
It’s looking likely that Lenny (Droopys Leonard) and Horse Outside will be having a short break. Lenny has had a very busy time these past months, whilst Horse Outside is also showing signs of a valiant campaign. Confirmation to follow as Norah considers.
On the bright side plaudits to Oscar (Lima Oscar) who went down gallantly, taking bronze in a three way photo for the Owners Bonus Trophy on Saturday evening.
However, the highlight from that card for the Norahmac club crew was the debut of Leah (Memories Leah). Our recent acquisition put in a sparkling effort to take second in a very exciting 30.28. Our March ’11 pup trapped fast and clean and stayed on well against all the way winner, the open class speedster, Ardbeg Brandon. Following the contest Norah was full of smiles.
Needless to say these are very early days and she’s been purchased for her future staying power. There’s plenty more to come over the months (and years) ahead.
Leah a potential superstar? Fingers crossed!

No club action until Friday but give a cheer for Norah’s kennel representatives at Sittingbourne on Thursday, racing for ‘Team Hove’ in the BAGS Track Championship; Roseville Maeve, Pennys Pee Wee and Droopys Brody.
Friday has Oscar (Lima Oscar) competing in the A7 at 12.58pm. In his favoured striped jacket, Oscar has his usual reasonable chance should he feel in the mood.
Saturday’s evening card has Lenny (Droopys Leonard) slipping down to A5 grade in the 9.57pm. This drop mirrors Lenny’s loss of form of late. Anywhere near his best our black lad would have the measure of most of this field with something in hand. Watching brief at the expected price?
Sunday’s BAGS card features our club girls with Wendy (Hanover Lady), D1 at 12.27pm, and Leah (Memories Leah), A3 1.44pm, both holding gold medal hopes.
Wendy can be forgiven her recent below par effort having to re-acclimatise following her away-day at Sittingbourne. The red jacket and a middle running novice on her outside provides her with a favourite’s chance.
Leah will have to improve on her debut run to trouble the judge in her classy heat. Of course our youngster will come on but it’s still asking something to win A3’s so early in a career, and a three berth with a speedster on her inside looks a tough assignment. Fingers crossed though.
Completing proceedings for the week we have Horse Outside taking a freshener at Sittingbourne in the 7.21pm a 500m Open. Boxed in trap one, Horse doesn’t face any superstars though one or two have useful clockings to their name.
