Preview and March 10th First Anniversary Party…
Review
Just a brief thanks to Debbie and Mick for providing and hosting the Champagne and Cake Coronation celebrations on Sunday. It was a great atmosphere with great weather and an opportunity for the Owner’s Lounge DVD/TV to come into it’s own. With standing room only and several showings throughout the day, it was great to relive the win and the interviews from last Wednesday evening.
To see the Sky coverage of Rathglass Hero’s win and the interview go to the Hall of Fame section of the website.
Preview
Following on from last week’s kennel highs, both trackside at Romford with Rathglass Hero and award-side with Norah’s Services to Greyhound Racing accolade, the action remains pretty much in full swing.
Thursday night features plenty of kennel runners at Hove, including Rathglass Hero checking out the Sussex air.
Whilst Droopys Darwin chances his arm in the Henlow Puppy Derby heats. Both cards are covered live on Channel 231 with a number of owners journeying down the M23 to support their runners in person.
Only Woody(off with a sore foot) misses out on a run this week-end from the club’s strength which sees a return to action for Horse Outside who contests an A1 (910.15) on Friday. It’s fair to say he’s a little short of peak fitness, posting 29.43 in his trial last week.
An hour earlier Wendy (Hanover Lady) has another crack at A3 level. Again berthed in the red, our blue girl is unlikely to be far away at the finish, having run with credit in similar company last week.
Oscar (Lima Oscar) takes his chance in an A2 (9.00pm) on Saturday. Sure to run his usual game race, he can never be written off especially when the ground is testing.
Diary dates
Plans for the First Anniversary Bash (F.A.B.) are in their final stages. March 10th at Wimbledon Stadium Restaurant is the time and date. The event will be similar to our September event and the price is £20 per person. This for three courses, two bottles of wine per table of four, race cards, contribution towards our sponsored race and small service charge for the restaurant staff.
We want this to be a great night with a coming together of as many owners, friends and supporters as possible so please keep that date free. Please book early to help the organisers with practical matters. Payment is in full by February 19th (no refunds) to Debbie, Ross, Gary or Norah.
Also note Sunday, May 6th for the WGOA annual shindig at Reigate – another great social event always well supported by Norah’s owners.
