There was no question that Debbie Williams had yet returned to planet earth when reliving her Wednesday night experiences with me on Thursday afternoon – that’s Dave’s Coronation Cup trophy at Romford!

Still on cloud nine, Debbie described the excitement of the race as Dave (Rathglass Hero) quickly sealed his winning opportunity from the first bend, leaving Norah (who had promised to stay contained) hollering in delight as she nearly pitched over the railings with enthusiasm with just under a circuit to go.

At the trophy presentation Debbie, Mick, Norah, Gemma and Tim were all cock-a-hoop, reveling in Group Two glory with Debbie being warned to pull herself together so that she wouldn’t drop the winning owners’ trophy, a gorgeous cut glass vase.

There was little semblance of decorum at the podium presentation apparently as both ‘ladies’ couldn’t contain their emotions during the photo shoot, kneeling at ground level grinning from ear to ear as Dave (Rathglass Hero) seemed totally unfazed by the circumstances – Norah then remained rooted to the ground as her leg seized up with cramp!

Debbie is looking forward to sharing some of her joy – as well as a glass of champers and some cake – with the Sunday morning stalwarts this coming week-end. There will also be a DVD showing the evening’s triumphs and ensuing antics in the Owners’ Lounge TV.

Needless to say the race will be added to the Roll of Honour gallery asap.
