BALIBO MAGS was sent off 11/4 favourite for a ROMFORD v HOVE INTER-TRACK RACE over 400 metres on the 10th August. Taking her first look at the London Road track ‘Mags’ showed good early pace and led from the first bend to power away for a sparkling win over the Philip Simmonds trained Kennedy Flair. Clocking 24.45 calculated the July 14 daughter of Razldazl Rioga owned by the Norah Mac Racing Mags syndicate beat the local runner by almost five lengths and she stepped up to Open class for the first time in the THE MARK NOLLER 40TH BIRTHDAY STAKES at Romford last Friday. She again showed good early pace and led from the second bend to the third when finishing 2nd to the impressive Crossfield James who is trained by Seamus Cahill. Balibo Mags clocked 24.56 calculated when beaten four lengths by the winner. She was back at Romford last night for Heat 1 of the CHAMPIONS NIGHT BITCHES Competition where a first ‘three’ finish would have seen her qualify for the Final on Wednesday 31st August. Sent off a 16/1 chance ‘Mags’ was forced to check on the run-up as Evanta Fantasy moved right coming out of trap 2. Having lost a good couple of lengths with that manoeuvre she had it all to do but managed to force her way back to dispute 3rd place in the back straight! Tiring close to home ‘Mags’ clocked 24.58 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten five lengths by the top class Evanta Fantasy who is trained by Mark Wallis.
