SLOW START IS COSTLY FOR MALCOLM!
SISTERS SECRET was a 25/1 chance for his 1st Round Derby Heat but he ran a superb race to finish in 2nd place beaten just under three lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Forest Con. He was knocked out in the 2nd Round but was by no means disgraced when finishing 4th beaten six lengths by the Pat Rosney trained winner The Other Reg. The April 15 son of Kinloch Brae owned by Karen Browne & Mick Browne was a 7/1 shot for Heat 1 of the ROMFORD FRIDAY NIGHT 500 STAYERS Competition run over 575 metres. Sadly he made a sluggish start and was soon under pressure! Although ‘Malcolm’ tried hard to recover he was unable to gain a qualifying place for the Final and clocked 35.98 (+20) 36.18 calculated when finishing in 4th place beaten just under six lengths by the Philip Simmonds trained winner Newlawn Simon.
BRAVE ‘MAX’ TIRES LATE ON!
MARCH ON MAX was a 20/1 shot for a STAYERS OPEN race over 695 Metres at Hove last Thursday but the October 13 son of Tullymurry Act who is owned by Nick Brereton and Mr J. Hughes ran a real ‘cracker’ to finish in 2nd place! Holding every chance he clocked a very decent 41.58 (Normal) when beaten just a length and a half by the Elizabeth & Rab McNair trained winner Paradise Marco. A 33/1 chance for last nights FOLLOW @CORAL ON TWITTER MARATHON run over 750 metres ‘Max’ was quick away and raced close up for well over a circuit and a half! Tiring late on he finished in 6th place clocking 48.27 (+30) 48.57 calculated when beaten just over twenty lengths by Aayamza Breeze who is trained by Mark Wallis.
