LONGRANGE DENIS

The Norah Mac Kennel are saddened to report the death of former Racing Club star LONGRANGE DENIS who passed away after suffering a heart attack at the kennels just before Christmas. The December 2011 white and black son of Droopys Kewell won 13 of his 42 races in a career cut short by an injury he sustained in the Coronation Cup Semi-Final at Romford on the 7th January 2015. Having beaten Soviet Kenny by just over two lengths in the Heats Club Members were hoping for a big run but sadly ‘Denis’ was knocked over at the 1st bend and the Romford vets found that he had broken a bone in his neck! Nursed back to health by the dedicated staff at Norah’s kennel ‘Denis’ spent his retirement at home with Norah and Brian but he would often enjoy days back at the kennel.
Highlights of a sparkling although short career was a 4th place beaten three lengths by Millwards Master in the Champion Stakes Final at Romford on the 10th September 2014.
Longrange Denis clocked a superb 29.70 when beating Maireads Dandy by just over four lengths in A1 grade over 515 metres at Hove on the 28th June 2014.
He beat Droopys Bass by 1/2 a length in an Inter-Track event at Swindon on the 20th October 2014.
‘Denis’ gained 2 wins at Lifford and 1 win at Drumbo Park before joining the Norah Mac Kennel and he won 8 races at Hove and 1 at both Romford and Swindon.
