Saturday 4th January 2020 – HOVE Report

CLOMANTAGH HOLLY   –   Off the mark for 2020

The lightly raced CLOMANTAGH HOLLY only managed 3 wins last year with the last of those victories coming way back in April! However she wasted no time at all when opening her account for 2020 in the A9 at 7-03 at Hove last night. Sent off a 7/1 chance the April 15 daughter of Mall Brandy showed good early pace and soon led! Keeping on well she beat the Tony Taylor trained Four Little Legs by 3/4 of a length! Owned by Trevor Absolom ‘Clomantagh Holly’ clocked 30.66 (Normal) when winning for the 9th time at Hove!

DROOPYS ELMA was a winning favourite last August where she beat Bulmers Dolly by just over two lengths in B2 grade! The February 15 daughter of Mall Brandy has failed to trouble the judge in ten races since but was made a 5/2 chance for the A6 at 8-38. Slow away and crowded at 1/2 way she had it all to do but finishing strongly she got up to beat the Claude Gardiner trained Cooly Contessa by a head! Owned by Norah McEllistrim ‘Droopys Elma’ clocked 30.34 (Normal) when winning her 13th race at Hove!
