The kennel pulled off a brilliant Four-Timer at Hove on Saturday night with wins from Abbeys Zenyatta, Fairhill Frankie, Droopys Tomford and Sizzlers Eagle! And just for good measure had the first three home in the D1 Sprint the second last race on the card! It was a great night for owners Dave & Joy Cook who were at Hove celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary! They were on hand to see their prolific winner Sizzlers Eagle gain a short-head success over Sizzlerscheyenne, their other runner in the line-up, giving the couple a one- two in the D1 Sprint at 10-13. The kennels Bush Samcro finished in 3rd place resulting in a Norah Mac Trio which paid £55- 50p on track!

Winners

With just the one career win in December 2014 ABBEYS ZENYATTA was unable to get her head in front again until successful in A10 grade on the 15th May. Since then the April 2013 daughter of Droopys Kewell hasn’t stopped winning and the Michelle Chambers, Norah McEllistrim and Gaynor Renwick owned bitch made it 5 wins from her last 10 runs when winning the A7 at 9-07. Sent off the 2/1 second favourite Abbeys Zenyatta was baulked at the first bend but ran on well to lead near the line beating the Jason Heath trained Steeple Rd Katie by a short-head! Abbeys Zenyatta clocked 30.94 (-10) 30.84 calculated when winning her 6th race at Hove!

FAIRHILL FRANKIE had won twice this year winning D2 Sprints in March and May. And the April 2012 son of Droopys Scolari made it a hat-trick of D2 Sprint wins when taking the 9-24 beating the Paul Garland trained Senor Eddie by a length and a quarter! Sent off the 5/4 favourite the Norah McEllistrim owned runner was very quick into stride and led from the first bend clocking 16.69 (-5) 16.64 calculated when winning his 7th race at Hove. This was a 9th career win for Fairhill Frankie who has two wins at Drumbo Park on his Irish card! Kennel mate Leathems Bright was a 10/1 chance for his Hove debut but the February 14 son of Shaneboy Lee made a slow start and was always behind. The youngster finished in 6th place clocking 17.12 (-50) 17.07 calculated when beaten just over five lengths by the winner but will improve for the experience.

DROOPYS TOMFORDDroopys Tomford 3 (right) was a good winner of a D2 Sprint on the 5th June and he followed up in style when stepping up in class and distance to win a Maiden Open on the 11th June. The September 2013 son of Droopys Woods out of the dam Droopys Start was a beaten favourite after finding trouble in A3 grade last time but dropped in to the A4 at 9-57  ‘Rolo’ returned to winning ways and gained his 4th success for the Norah Mac Racing Club who now move on to the 123 winner mark! Sent off a 2/1 chance ‘Rolo’ was slow away and crowded at the first bend but showing good pace he ran on well to beat the Jason Heath trained Drive To Dublin by a neck! Clocking his quickest time so far 30.31 (-10) 30.21 calculated the improving Droopys Tomford has now won 3 of his last 4 runs.

Sizzlers Eagle 2

Sizzlers Eagle  –  Anniversary winner for Dave & Joy!

SIZZLERS EAGLE has got a superb strike rate! The talented April 2013 son of Timor Blue has now won 10 of his 21 races! He has also finished 2nd on six occasions! Owned by Dave and Joy Cook Sizzlers Eagle was sent off the even money favourite for the D1 Sprint at 10-13 and he ran on well clocking 16.35 (-5) 16.30 calculated when beating Sizzlerscheyenne by a short-head! All of his 10 wins have come at Hove with 5 of them in Open class! Sizzlerscheyenne was an 8/1 shot but he ran well in defeat! He was crowded at the first bend but led to near the line clocking 16.36 (-5) 16.31 calculated in 2nd place! Bush Samcro had been off-colour and side lined for four weeks and he was sent off a 5/2 chance on his return! He held every chance in the race finishing in 3rd place and will come on for this run! Clocking 16.52 (-5) 16.47 calculated he was beaten two and a half lengths by the winner!

How Our Other Runners Fared

The Dave and Joy Cook owned Sizzlers Big Boy was unable to add further success to the fantastic evening the couple enjoyed as he could only manage 4th place in the A8 at 8-02. Sent off the 9/4 second favourite he was slow away and baulked at the first bend and clocked 31.07 (-10) 30.97 calculated when beaten just under six lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner April Ali.

Granson Luca held every chance and only faded late on in the A9 at 8-18. The 3/1 shot clocked 31.09 (-10) 30.99 calculated when finishing in 4th place beaten just over five lengths by the Maria Collins trained winner Ribena Stevie.

Young pup Another Me was making his Hove debut in the D1 Sprint at 8-34. The February 14 son of Shaneboy Lee had gone well in his trials and although finishing in 5th place his time was pretty reasonable pitched in at this level. He made a slow start and suffered crowding at the first bend and clocked 16.75 (-5) 16.70 calculated when beaten three lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Maireads Bel. Kennel mate Ballymac Marine was baulked and checked at the first bend and could never get in the race. He clocked 16.99 (-5) 16.94 calculated finishing in 6th place six lengths behind the winner.
