SATURDAY HOVE REPORT
Saturday 16th September 2017 – HOVE Report
ASSERT ran on well to beat Champagne Maura by a head on Wednesday and the July 14 son of Skywalker Ace was a 9/2 chance up in grade for the A9 at 8-34. Slow away and crowded at the 1st bend he ran on well to finish in 2nd place clocking 31.14 (Normal) when beaten just a length by the Tony Taylor trained winner Droopys Quintet.
DATA OLLY last ran on the 27th May where he finished six lengths behind Alist Kattrina in A5 grade. Returning from injury the June 13 son of Head Bound was a 12/1 chance for the A7 at 8-51. Slow away, and in need of the run, ‘Olly’ clocked 31.38 (Normal) when finishing in 6th place beaten just under ten lengths by Romeo Speedster who is trained by Jason Heath.
MOANTEEN DEXTER was making his Hove debut in the D3 Sprint at 9-07 where the April 16 son of Boherna House was sent off a 5/1 shot. Holding every chance the youngster finished in 3rd place clocking 17.15 (Normal) when beaten three and a half lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Postman Mac.
BALIBO RUBY was withdrawn (lame) from this race and the July 14 daughter of Razldazl Rioga was a non-runner last night.
MY SPICE was beaten just over three lengths by Drumcove Jar Jar in a D3 Sprint last time and the July 14 daughter of Lenson Bolt was made a 3/1 chance now up in trip for the A10 at 9-24. Making a quick start she led to 1/2 way but tiring on the turn for home she clocked 31.73 (-10) 31.63 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten eight and a half lengths by Swift Holly who is trained by Maria Collins.
RACENIGHT DUKE was beaten just a length by Crossfield Jake last time and the August 13 son of Head Bound was sent off the 7/4 favourite for the A8 at 9-41. Although suffering crowding at the 1st bend he ran on well to finish in 3rd place clocking 31.31 (-10) 31.21 calculated when beaten just over five lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Hearditallbefore.
SPIDERMAN finished 2nd beaten just over a length by Westmead Julie last Sunday and he faced the Derek Knight runner again in the D1 Sprint at 9-57. A 3/1 shot the June 14 son of Razldazl Jayfkay had to settle for 3rd place this time, clocking 16.77 (Normal), he was beaten a length and a half by Westmead Julie who again came out on top! Kennel mate DROMANA HERO finished 6th beaten six and a half lengths by the Patrick Janssens trained Walk The Talk in a Hove Sprint Open race on the 27th July and the October 14 son of Mall Brandy was a 4/1 chance on his return after illness. Although crowded and forced to check at the 2nd bend he clocked 16.86 (Normal) and was only beaten two and a half lengths despite finishing in 6th place.
AFTER SHOCK finished 3rd beaten three and a half lengths by Eyed Lands Girl in a D2 Sprint last time and the April 15 daughter of Superior Product was a 2/1 chance up in trip for the A9 at 10-13. Despite stumbling at the start she led from the 1st bend to 1/2 way but crowded at the 4th bend she clocked 31.53 (Normal) when finishing in 4th place beaten just over three lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Ballymac Kincora.
