Saturday 1st April 2017  –  HOVE Report

MARCH ON MAX was 5th beaten just under five lengths by Dottie Belle in an A5 on Wednesday and the October 13 son of Tullymurry Act was given a drop in grade for the A6 at 7-31 last night. Although slow away the 7/2 chance ran on well to finish in 2nd place and clocked 30.58 (Normal) when beaten just a ‘short-head’ by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Myles Baby.

BALLYSTEEN STAR was badly baulked at the 1st bend when finishing 6th beaten just under eight lengths by Old Bigears in a D2 Sprint on the 23rd March and the July 14 daughter of Droopys Scolari was a 5/1 chance to the D2 Sprint at 7-46. After making a fast start ‘Star’ was baulked at 1/2 way and clocking 17.20 (Normal) she finished in 6th place beaten just over seven lengths by Annies Girl who is trained by Seamus Cahill.

MANNIX MOLAURA was crowded at the 1st bend when finishing 4th beaten just under five lengths by Sizzlers Ivory last Sunday but she was sent off 7/4 favourite for the D3 Sprint at 9-24. Sadly the September 15 daughter of Scolari Me Daddy was baulked at the 1st bend and her chance was gone! Clocking 17.34 (Normal) she finished in 4th place beaten four and a half lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner There She Sails.

AVIT ON BESSIE was baulked at the 1st bend after making a slow start when 5th beaten seven lengths by Rowfolds Gareth on Wednesday and she was a 7/4 chance for the A7 at 10-13. After leading to the 2nd bend the March 14 daughter of Shaneboy Spencer was baulked and stumbled at 1/2 way but clocking 31.02 she finished in 3rd place beaten just 3/4 of a length by Wizzardofsozz who is trained by Wendy Short.

SISTERS SECRET made a winning debut in an A5 on the 5th March where the April 15 son of Kinloch Brae clocked 30.32 calculated when beating Westmead Winston by a very impressive seven lengths! Up two grades for that success he clocked a superb 30.22 (Normal) when making it 2 wins from 2 runs by beating Maireads Dream just over a length in an A3 on Wednesday! A 7/2 chance for the A2 at 10-30 ‘Malcolm’ ran another fine race when finishing 2nd to the talented Weathercockwalsh who is trained by Paul Garland. Holding every chance Sisters Secret clocked another very decent time of 30.23 (Normal) when beaten just over two lengths by the winner.
