1st     LOYAL ROCK                                 Katie O’Flaherty   (Henlow)

6th    CELLINI                                          Norah McEllistrim   (Hove)

The bookies could not seperate Glenvale Stevie and Loyal Rock and there was nothing between them on the track! The 6/4 joint favourites arrived at the first bend ahead of their rivals but it was Stevie who had to snatch back as Loyal Rock cut across him. To his credit Glenvale Stevie recovered and ran on well to finish one and a quarter lengths behind Katie O’Flaherty’s winner. Glenvale Stevie clocked 16.50 sec over the 265 metres. Cellini was a 12/1 chance and was slightly crowded at the first bend and bumped at half way. She was beaten just over seven lengths and clocked 16.98 sec in 6th place.

He held on to that position and clocked 30.68 sec when beaten two and three quarter lengths by the Kevin Hutton trained winner Allen Cherry. The Barry O’Sullivan trained Lookingfor Fame was the other qualifier from this heat.
