SUNDAY HOVE ‘DOUBLE’ FOR ‘TEAM MAC’

Sunday 7th December HOVE Report

Winners

SIZZLERS BIG BOY was well beaten on his return from a 4 month lay off and you would have been excused for thinking he would need this run also. However the November 2010 son of Hades Rocket, sent off the 8/1 outsider, made a mockery of those odds when winning the A9 at 12-12. Despite making a slow start he ran on well to beat the Wayne Wrighting trained Fifiatwelldigger by a short-head! Owned by Dave and Joy Cook Sizzlers Big Boy clocked 31.23 (-50) 30.73 calculated when winning his 6th race at Hove!

CELLINI was last successful early in October but the Open race run out at Sittingbourne last Sunday sweetened her up nicely for victory in the A6 at 12-41 today. The January 2012 daughter of Head Bound showed good early pace but was crowded at the first bend in a messy race. Our 3/1 chance managed to lead from the first bend trouble and just held on beating the Derek Knight trained Hi Kina by a neck! Owned by the Norahmacjestic Six Cellini clocked 31.10 (-50) 30.60 calculated when winning for the 11th time at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared

Our two runners in the D1 Sprint at 11-11 both ran well. Viscount Rambler suffered first bend crowding but finished 2nd to the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Oonah. The ‘Rambler’ clocked 17.01 (-30) 16.71 calculated just over two lengths behind the winner. Fairhill Frankie was sent off the 5/2 joint favourite and despite holding every chance could only manage 3rd place. He clocked 17.04 (-30) 16.74 calculated two and a half lengths behind the winner.

Coolscart Hawk was sent off the 5/2 joint favourite for the A6 at 11-57. He made a quick break but found trouble at the 4th bend and was beaten five lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Beachy Head. The ‘Hawk’ clocked 31.46 (-50) 30.96 calculated finishing in 5th place.

Our two runners in the D2 Sprint at 12-58 finished well behind. Farloe Scolari was a 5/1 chance and  clocked 17.33 (-25) 17.08 calculated in 5th place beaten seven lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Solid Fairy. Kennel mate Classy Molly was the 10/1 outsider and after a slow break she was crowded at the first bend and clocked 17.38 (-25) 17.13 calculated in 6th place just under eight lengths behind the winner.
