SIZZLERSCHEYENNE showed his authority when winning the Hove Maiden 475 Open race at the Nevill Road stadium last night. The August 2012 son of Hondo Black had won 6 races at Galway (one in A2 grade) before joining Norah but this was his first success at Hove after only having two A3 outings. Showing good early pace he led at the first bend and ran on strongly to beat the Maria Collins trained runner-up Memyselfandi by just over four lengths! Owned by Dave and Joy Cook, who’s “Sizzlers” dogs are in great form at present, ‘Cheyenne’ clocked 27.95 (-30) 27.65 calculated to open his Hove account.

Watch Matt was the 25/1 outsider for the Hove Maiden Sprint Open race but any hopes of a shock were dashed at the first bend where he was baulked! Unable to recover he clocked 17.16 (-15) 17.01 calculated finishing in 4th place six and a half lengths behind the Derek Knight trained winner Roses Risk.

Mustang Blitz made a slow start in the Download The Coral App Sprint Open race and was bumped at the first bend. He finished 4th to the Seamus Cahill trained winner Who Needs Pace clocking 16.96 (-15) 16.81 calculated beaten six lengths by the winner.

Ballymac Tonya was sent off the 2/1 favourite for the A8 at 10-11 but a slow start and crowding at the first bend prevented a win! She was beaten just under four lengths by the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Farleyhill Adam clocking 31.67 (-30) 31.37 calculated finishing in 4th place.
Judicial Babe suffered crowding in the A7 at 9-56 and finished five lengths behind the Derek Knight trained winner Baran Chicago. She clocked 31.44 (-30) 31.14 calculated when beaten five lengths by the winner.
Droopys Michigan had a good position going into the first bend of the A2 at 10-26 but struggled for pace and faded quickly. He finished in 6th place clocking 31.11 (-30) 30.81 calculated and was beaten six lengths by the Doreen Walsh trained winner Old Grand Dog.
