GRISEDALE GIRL relished the step up in trip for the CORAL.CO.UK MAIDEN 475 Open race at Hove last night! The April 2013 daughter of Timor Blue out of the dam Hollands Jet, a full sister to the 8 times winner Sizzlers Eagle, led all the way! Her breeder John Holland is on a visit from County Limerick and was at Hove with Norah last night to see this win! A winner of a D2 Sprint in March Grisedale Girl got off the mark in Open class in good style. Owned by Bob Boswell she was quick away and never headed clocking 28.15 calculated when beateing the Seamus Cahill trained favourite More Ideas by three quarters of a length! Our 6/1 chance was winning for the second time at Hove! Droopys Maso trained by Jim Daly finished in 3rd place.

Leathems Desire had a nightmare of a run in the CORAL.CO.UK PUPPIES Open race! Every move he tried was blocked and he just could not find a way past the Wayne Wrighting trained trap 6 runner Sleepy Joejoe despite trying to go inside and out! In all poor ‘Winston’ was crowded at the 1st & 2nd bends, then at half-way and again at the 4th bend! He even had to switch again near the line! Sent off the Even money favourite he had made a good start but soon ran into trouble down the back straight when being forced out wide! ‘Winston’ clocked 30.51 calculated when finishing in 4th place about seven lengths behind the race winner Crossfield Zeus (29.95 calc.) who ran well for trainer Seamus Cahill. Ballymac Leo (David Mullins) finished in 2nd place and Sleepy Joejoe was 3rd! Although ‘Winston’ seems fine this morning Norah will have him checked over just to be safe.
