SWIFT DEBBIE AND GRAIGUENOE ROYAL BOTH WIN & THERE’S A KENNEL 1-2

The kennel got back to winning ways with a ‘double’ at Hove today! And there was a Norah Mac ‘forecast’ in the A5 at 11-42 as Swift Debbie beat her kennel mate Ballymac Benefit in a thrilling finish!

Winners

SWIFT DEBBIE made it two wins on the trot when she won the A5 at 11-42 beating her kennel mate Ballymac Benefit by 1/2 a length. The August 2010 daughter of Hometown Boy owned by Miss J. A. Maslin raced middle and led at the third bend clocking 30.62 when holding off the challenge of Ballymac Benefit. This was a 12th Hove win for Swift Debbie. Connections of Ballymac Benefit, the 2/1 favourite, may count themselves a bit unlucky as he was slow away and crowded at the 3/4 mark and again on the run in. He clocked 30.66 in second place.

GRAIGUENOE ROYAL was winning for the 17th time in his career when taking the A6 at 1-12. The December 2009 son of Royal Impact owned by the Scarlet Pimpernel syndicate railed well and got up to lead near the line to beat the Derek Knight trained Baran Ivory a neck! He was sent off the 5/2 second favourite and clocked 30.40 when winning for the 14th time at Hove. Wins at Sittingbourne, Shelbourne Park and Longford give him a career total of seventeen victories!

How Our Other Runners Fared

We had two runners in the A5 at 11-28 but both finished in rear some five lengths behind Woodmancote Kidd who is trained by Wayne Wrighting. Sizzlers Beauty was crowded at the start and again at bends 1 and 2. He was further crowded at the 3/4 mark and again at the fourth bend finally clocking 30.60 in 5th place! Ballymac Dainty was very slow away and also baulked on the run-in and she finished in 6th place clocking 30.66 sec.

Watch Matt was slow away in the A4 at 12-12 and was beaten five lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Seagrave Sam. Watch Matt clocked 30.80 finishing in 5th place.
