GREAT WEDNESDAY WITH FIVE WINNERS AND FOUR SECONDS FOR TEAM MAC!
A brilliant day for the kennel at Hove on Wednesday with Five Winners and Four Seconds from our thirteen runners! Congratulations to all the kennel team for their hard work in achieving these results!
Wednesday 16th April HOVE Report (All Races Going: Normal)
Winners
RELEASE THE ACE was added to the card late replacing his kennel mate Pretty In Blue in the A8 at 2-08 but he was ready for action and the 6/4 favourite was soon into stride. He disputed the lead before going on to beat the Jason Heath trained Karma Kylie by 3/4 of a length. The April 2012 son of Ace Hi Rumble owned by Mr R. L. Mathurin and Mr P. G. Tomlin clocked 30.81 when winning for the third time at Hove.
AVIT ON ELSIE doubled up on her win last time when taking the A11 at 2-47. The July 2012 daughter of Eden Brett showed early pace and racing wide led at the first bend and beat the Jason Heath trained Warnham Ice by two lengths. Owned by Gemma Byford and Scott Murray she clocked 30.97 when winning her second race at Hove.
KAIYAS SHAKIRA was sent of the 10/1 outsider of the party for the A6 at 4-08 when returning to action after injury. Showing good early pace she led near the line beating the Ken Tester trained Dubai Fantasy a head! The April 2010 daughter of Cashen Legend is owned by Carol Spriggs and Dave Staddon and clocked 30.43 winning her eighth race at Hove. This was a 10th career win as she also has a Wimbledon win and Tralee win on her card.
The amazing DONNAS GIFT won his 29th race when winning the A6 at 5-38. Owned by Patrick O’Grady and Gaynor Renwick he showed early pace and despite crowding at the second bend got up to beat the Ken Tester trained Ardbeg Sue by 1/2 a length! The August 2008 son of Ballymac Maeve clocked 30.43 when winning his 15th race at Hove. With four Sheffield wins, eight Lifford wins and two Dundalk wins the veteran has an incedible record of 29 career wins!
The drop in grade was all SPORTING TRACEY needed to get back to winning ways and despite giving them all a start in the A4 at 5-56 she ran on well to beat the Jason Heath trained Ballymac Sicily just over a length! The November 2010 daughter of Blackstone Gene was sent off the Even money favourite and clocked 30.33 for her ninth Hove win! This was an 11th career win for the Mr K. Hazeltine owned bitch as she has wins at Henlow and Galway on her card!
How Our Other Runners Fared
Although we had five winners the day could have been even better because four of our runners filled the runners-up spot in their races! Hanover Lady was sent off 5/4 favourite for the D1 sprint at 2-27 and only failed by 3/4 of a length to peg back the Maria Collins trained Toots Too. Hanover Lady was crowded at the first bend but ran on well clocking 16.68 in 2nd place while her kennel mate Droopys Winnie clocked 16.80 in 5th place after a slow start.
Sizzlers Beauty had been narrowly beaten in her last two races and on the strength of that form was sent off the 6/4 favourite for the A5 at 3-28. She was crowded and checked at the 1/4 mark but only beaten a neck at the line by the Seamus Cahill trained Guinness Boss. Sizzlers Beauty clocked 30.60 in 2nd place.
Sizzlers Big Boy was looking to gain compensation for owner Dave Cook in the A7 at 4-27 but he too had to settle for the runners-up position after he was crowded at the 1/4 mark. The 5/2 favourite ran on well clocking 30.60 but was beaten almost three lengths by the Derek Knight trained Baron Ivory.
Our fourth second on the day was Lobelia in the A5 at 4-47. She has been in good form lately and was quick away and led to near the line being beaten just a neck by the Wendy Short trained Jays Pixie. Lobelia clocked 30.52 while her kennel mate Graiguenoe Royal clocked 30.62 just a length behind in 4th place after being baulked at the third bend.
Avite Becky was well beaten in the A8 at 3-48 after she was baulked and clocked 31.11 when finishing 4th some nine lengths behind the winner Centurion Lilly trained by Wendy Short.
Cellini suffered a similar fate in the A3 at 6-11. She was baulked at the 3/4 mark and clocked 30.62 in 5th place beaten six lengths by the Dean Childs trained winner Coolavanny Marty.

8 RUNNERS HOVE FRIDAY – TWO DERBY TRIALISTS WIMBLEDON SATURDAY!
Friday 18th April HOVE Runners (Subject to Alteration)
Droopys Bertha usually stays on well in her races but must avoid trouble in running in the A6 at 11-11.
Glenvale Rosie had been running well in her races before being baulked on her latest outing. She has a chance in this A11 grade race at 11-42.
Up in grade for an impressive win last Saturday Watch Matt is obviously in good form and not out of it in the A4 at 11-57.
The drop in grade will improve the chance of Classy Molly in the A8 at 12-12.
Cause Of Justice is up in grade after his win last Saturday. A strong finisher he should again run well in the A3 at 12-27.
We have two runners lining up for the A5 at 12-42. Droopys Margaret has run well in her last three races but has a bit to find with Mikeys Guest who won in good style last Saturday. He is up in grade for that effort but would go close with a repeat of that run!
Glenvale Paddy was very slow away last time and has now been well beaten in his last five runs. Fifteen career wins confirm his ability but he needs to find a return to form in the A9 at 1-58.
Runners
DROOPYS BERTHA, GLENVALE ROSIE, WATCH MATT, CLASSY MOLLY, CAUSE OF JUSTICE, DROOPYS MARGARET, MIKEYS GUEST, GLENVALE PADDY
