Superb Hove ‘Four’ Timer For Team Mac!
IT’S ‘DOUBLE JOY’ FOR DAVE & JOY AS THEY CELEBRATE A SIZZLING DOUBLE!
Saturday 29th March HOVE Report
It was a great night for the Norah McEllistrim kennel on the south coast on Saturday! A brilliant four timer from only seven runners saw Dave and Joy Cook celebrating a first and last race “double” and Ballymac Benefit returning to winning ways after a lay off! Glenvale Stevie continued his own comeback when he followed up last Sundays win in a competitive sprint!
Winners
SIZZLERS BIG BOY got the kennel off the mark in the A8 at 7-31 when he beat the Maria Collins trained Berkshire Hodgo a head in an exciting finish! The November 2010 son of Hades Rocket was slow away and crowded at the third bend but stayed on strongly to take it up in the home straight. He clocked 30.64 on the Normal going. Owned by Dave & Joy Cook the 3/1 shot had been on a losing run of ten races after winning three during January. This latest victory was his 4th career win!
SIZZLERS BEAUTY saved the best till last with a stunning performance in the last race on the card! The April 2012 daughter of Kinloch Brae made her debut last week, when beaten around 4 lengths, but showed what an exciting prospect she is when bolting up in the A6 at 10-30. Owned by Dave & Joy Cook she produced a 4.14 split and led all the way clocking an impressive 30.19 (+10) 30.29 calculated when beating the Wayne Wrighting trained Numero Oonah over four lengths! The youngster was sent off the 5/2 co favourite of three to open her Hove account in style!
BALLYMAC BENEFIT had been off the track for almost three months but returned to action with a win in her first attempt at a sprint! The June 2010 daughter of Burnpark Champ was crowded at the first bend in the D1 at 8-34 but rallied to lead near the line beating the Jason Heath trained Warnham Shadow a short head! Owned by the Power Of Seven Syndicate she was sent off the 10/1 outsider of the party and clocked 16.68 on the Normal going. Winning for the thirteenth time at Hove this was a 16th career win for Ballymac Benefit with her three victories at Wimbledon taken into account.
GLENVALE STEVIE continued his comeback with another impressive win. The November 2011 son of Paddy’s Flame followed up his win of last Sunday when taking a competitive D1 sprint at 10-13. Sent off the 7/4 favourite he was crowded at the second bend but led in the straight to beat the Derek Knight trained Doctor Dave 3/4 of a length clocking a decent 16.41 (+5) 16.46 calculated! Owned by the Norahmacnuggets ‘Stevie’ was winning at Hove for the fourth time. Added to a Drumbo Park win on his Irish card he now has five career wins to his credit! Lochys Blue Boy was having only his fourth race and he ran well to finish third beaten less than a length! He led from the first bend to the second and suffered crowding but still clocked a respectable 16.49 (+5) 16.54 calculated.
How Our Other Runners Fared
Intayacynthia returned to action after injury and finished 5th in the A5 at 8-51. She was involved until tiring late on and would have needed this run. She was beaten nine lengths and clocked 31.02 (Normal) behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Guinness Champ.
Ballymac Dainty was up in grade for her win last Saturday but she was slow away and crowded at the third bend in the A3 at 8-18 and never recovered. Always in last place she clocked 30.88 (Normal) and was beaten ten lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Incicta Bluebee.
