LENSON WALCOTT clocked a superb 29.93 (Normal) when beating Celtic Ash in an A2 at Hove on the 30th July. The August 13 son of Vans Escalade owned by Tony Mann followed up that win clocking 30.21 (Normal) when beating Maireads Jett by three lengths in A1 grade on the 6th August. ‘Theo’ was a 7/2 chance for a Romford Open on the 12th August but he found ‘trouble’ at the first bend and clocked 25.10 calculated when finishing 5th beaten over twelve lengths by the John Mullins trained winner Clubber Lang. Back at Hove for an A1 last Saturday he again found ‘trouble’ in running after making a slow start and clocking 30.59 calculated he finished in 5th place beaten just over eight lengths by Banabane. But ‘Theo’ bounced back to form to finish an excellent 2nd in the WIMBLEDON 480 STANDARD Open race at Plough Lane last night! Despite some bumping and barging at the start which involved four of the runners Lenson Walcott clocked an impressive 28.69 (Normal) when beaten a length an a half by the Elizabeth and Rab McNair trained winner Queen Asia.

BABY GOLD  –  7 Wins at Hove!

BABY GOLD clocked 30.87 calculated when beating Suirview Boris by 3/4 of a length to win an A8 on the 12th August. She was a 4/1 chance for an A7 on Wednesday where she ran on well after suffering crowding at the first bend to clock 31.28 calculated when finishing in 3rd place beaten just over three lengths by Maireads Mist. The February 13 daughter of Droopys Scolari was a 5/1 chance when making a quick re-appearance in the A7 at 8-18 last night. But she got back to winning ways when producing a gutsy effort to beat the Tony Taylor trained Glencorbry Cara by 3/4 of a length! Owned by the Jaytee Syndicate Baby Gold led to third bend and stayed on late to get up close to home clocking 30.92 (-10) 30.82 calculated when winning her 7th race at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared 

SIZZLERS DIAMOND ran well in A1 grade on the 13th August where he finished a good 2nd to Slaheny King. Despite suffering crowding the March 14 son of Head Bound clocked a decent 30.39 (Normal) when beaten just 3/4 of a length and he was sent off 6/4 joint-favourite for the HOVE MAIDEN Open race over 515 metres on the 18th August. In a ‘messy’ race Sizzlers Diamond clocked 30.84 calculated when finishing 3rd beaten just a length by Wideawakejohn and he was a 7/2 chance on his return to graded action for the A1 at 9-41. Despite finding trouble at the first bend he clocked 30.69 (-10) 30.59 calculated when finishing in 2nd place beaten three and a half lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Slaheny King.

BARNISH PETER clocked 30.56 calculated when beating Dinner Ashmole by almost two lengths in a 3-dog Trial on the 18th August and he returned from injury to run in an A5 on Wednesday. After making a slow start the February 12 son of Top Honcho clocked 30.75 (Normal) when finishing in 4th place beaten just over six lengths by Inislosky Mull and was a 5/1 chance lining up for the A5 at 9-57. Holding every chance Barnish Peter clocked 31.16 (-10) 31.06 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten three lengths by the Doreen Walsh trained winner Brickhill Jacksy.

SIZZLERSCHEYENNE was in Open company for the CORAL BACKS CHILDREN WITH CANCER 475 Open race on the 7th August. Showing good early pace he led all the way to beat the Paul Young trained Bubbly Zeus by 3/4 of a length! The August 12 son of Hondo Black clocked 27.88 calculated when winning his 15th race at Hove and was on a ‘hat-trick’ for a D1 Sprint on the 18th August. Sadly he found ‘trouble’ in running after a slow start and clocked 16.83 calculated when finishing 4th beaten seven lengths by Swift Watson. Sizzlerscheyenne was a 5/2 chance for the D1 Sprint at 10-13 and he ran on well to finish 2nd clocking 16.54 (-5) 16.49 calculated when beaten just a ‘neck’ by the Paul Garland trained winner Portumna Socks. Kennel mate CABRIOL ARAMIS  clocked 16.65 calculated in a solo Sprint Trial on the 15th August and was made a 6/1 chance for his Hove debut in a D1 Sprint last Saturday. Baulked at 1/2 way and crowded at the second bend the May 14 son of Blonde Snapper clocked 16.99 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten just over six lengths by Gem Master. He was a 16/1 chance last night and after finding first bend trouble he clocked 17.01 (-5) 16.96 calculated when finishing in 6th place beaten six lengths by the winner.

FANORE BREEZE was a 7/2 chance for an A5 on Wednesday but she suffered crowding at the first and third bends and clocked 30.80 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten just over five lengths by Daylens Volcano and the December 12 daughter of Crash is back in action for the A5 at 11-42.

SATELLITE FEVER

SATELLITE FEVER was slow away in an A5 on the 19th August and after suffering crowding at the first and fourth bends the February 12 son of College Causeway clocked 31.04 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten six lengths by Miomi. ‘Tommy’ is given a drop in grade for the A6 at 12-12.

MARYS BOY was 7/4 favourite for a D3 Sprint on Wednesday where he showed good early pace to be prominent early! Taking up the running at 1/2 way he held the late challenge of Forever Man to win by a short-head! The June 14 son of Razldazl Jayfkay   clocked 16.73 (Normal) when winning his 2nd race at Hove and is up in grade for the A2 at 12-27.

BALIBO RUBY

BALIBO RUBY clocked 30.95 calculated when finishing 2nd beaten just a short-head by Ballysteen Star in a 2-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 13th August and the July 14 daughter of Razldazl Rioga owned by the Norah Mac Racing Ruby syndicate lined up in A6 grade last Saturday. Slow away and crowded at the second bend ‘Ruby’ clocked 30.88 calculated when finishing 5th beaten six lengths by Kirkpatrick Girl and she is given a drop in grade for the A7 at 1-12.
