Review

Some fair efforts from the club runners and a decent debut from Gilbert (Ferdia Oscar). Our white and black lad claimed the bronze medal, following a decent break and some luck in running at Sittingbourne on Sunday.  He’ll strip sharper for that run.

Lenny (Droopys Leonard) is scheduled for a hurdle trial on Tuesday at Sittingbourne. This as preparation for his engagement in the Kent track’s forthcoming graded hurdle contests, beginning in August. All part of their support of timber topping with their staging of the Greyhound Grand National in October.

Leah (Memories Leah) is entered (trap four) in the A3 at 3.28pm on Wednesday’s card. Her participation is subject to a fitness check on Tuesday. A further comment may be added here if info comes through. Needless to say if she doesn’t run the check will suggest she’s not fully fit.

The A8 at 5.56pm has Oscar (Lima Oscar) turning out in stripes.  The outside boxes have not had the best of it off late so a look at the afternoon’s previous results would be a useful check on the day’s going bias (or not).  It’s fair to say that Oscar would need to recontinue his form resurgence to play an effective part.

Thursday’s RPGTV is another cracking card, following last Thursday’s spectacle. No club runners but some kennel participation on a fine card – watch the action live on RPGTV.

There’s a Horse Outside in the 1.12pm, an A5, on Friday’s card – but will he come in?  Anyway a blue jacket and a preliminary to busy weekend for club and kennel.  A tight affair and vulnerable to first bend crowding, it’s fingers crossed.

Saturday’s meeting features a sponsored event by our members Lee and Lisa , over from Bermuda for the weekend. Oscar (Lima Oscar) represents the club in their race, the A8 at 8.02pm.  Hopefully our journeyman, in stripes, will come good when it matters and the silverware will sit proud on a mantelpiece in the Caribbean.

Earlier, on a card crammed with Norahmac runners, Wendy (Hanover Lady) takes a tilt at the D1 at 7.46pm. Our cannine queen will need to trap smart from the inside berth to retain the rails pitch if she is to see off some fast paced rivals in a pretty warm affair.
