Review

Unfortunately the poor news is that Horse Outside joins the list of club casualties, following a sprain from his run on Thursday. Norah estimates he’s off until late March. Currently the club strength on the card is limited to Lenny (Droopys Leonard) and Wendy (Hanover Lady).

It’s been an incredible run and we’ve been spoilt since joining Hove. All the casualties will be back given rest so plenty to look forward to in the New Year.

The kennel had a good run last week. A trio of Open wins; two at Sittingbourne on Sunday (Droopys Brody and Zodiac Zeus) and French Blue’s big priced win at Hove on RPGTV on Thursday evening.

Also first graded wins for recent Henlow Sales purchases Zara Two and Coolscart Hawk, both dogs wholly owned by club members – well done Spriggsy, Janet, Floydy, Dave Reynolds, Gary, Bob et al.

Wednesday’s BAGS card see our two fit runners each out earning their corn.  Lenny (Droopys Leonard) takes in the A4 at 3.48pm. Last week’s run can be ignored as he was sloshing around in a lake given the deluge at the time. It’s only an ordinary heat for the grade and a return to two runs ago would have Lenny go very close from his striped jacket draw.

Wendy (Hanover Lady) tackles somewhat less exalted company than Sunday in a decent D1 at 5.56. Berthed in blue, she has a favourite’s chance.

And a second bite of the cherry this week for both dogs on Sunday.

Lenny (Droopys Leonard) has another poke at an A4 at 11.43.  It will be his fourth outing in fourteen days, many of the races being in pretty sloppy conditions. The forecast for Sunday is for more rain and it’s hard to make a case for Lenny (in trap six) – given his two most recent runs, the results, and the frequent visits of late.

Wendy (Hanover Lady) contests the sprint Open at 11.57am. Our blue wont find too many easier heats of this nature. Berthed on the rails she has a couple of novices on her outside. The potentially useful looking novice in trap five could prove the main danger.
