Wendy (Hanover Lady) recovered well enough from a tardy start to claim the bronze spot in her heat on Saturday and so goes through to the ‘monkey’ final and a trophy this Saturday.  Fingers crossed – be there or be square!

A grand turn out for a real shindig on Sunday with the Kingston South Holiday Inn hosting the inaugural Wimbledon Welfare Winter Ball.

Norah’s crew were responsible for filling four of the eighteen tables and it was a great night.  All credit and many thanks to Dawn and all at Hersham Hounds for their efforts.

The A4 at 3.48pm on Wednesday’s card sees Horse Outside continue to seek a winning opportunity.  Despite one or two decent runs and a couple of trips to Sittingbourne, Horse is a bit of a ‘cold’ runner at the moment.  That said if his interest has been rekindled with his away days this would not be out of his range.  Each way prospects with an outside (no pun intended) chance of claiming gold.

Wendy (Hanover Lady) duly takes her place in the £500 to the winner Owner’s Trophy on Saturday at 8.51pm.  Our blue cannot afford a tardy start, boxed in one,  in a very warm contest that has a wide open look to it.

Sunday’s card provides an opportunity for Lenny (Droopys Leonard) to stake a claim on the A4 at 1.28pm. The lone wide seed suggests that Lenny’s chance will depend, to some extent at least,  on the state of the ground come post time. Our Droopys Kewell dog has the class to put in a bold display all things being equal. Fingers crossed.

Other news

Norah is supporting the Retired Greyhound Trust charity meeting at Hove on Saturday 15th December.  Members and kennel owners are invited to join in the presentation in our sponsored event on that night’s card.  Hopefully we’ll have a few runners too.

Norah would like to remind owners that whilst the kennel is open on Christmas Day (as usual),  owners are welcome to visit between 10.00am and midday, this to enable the kennel team to get home to enjoy the remainder of the afternoon with their families.
