It was agony for Norah Mac Racing Club members to watch as Leathems Desire went so close to qualifying for the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby Final at Monmore today! After first bend trouble where Winston was baulked and odds on favourite Southfield Jock fell our Club ‘star’ was well behind! Vatican Baloteli was clear and gone and 2nd place was the best we could hope for. Winston dug deep to make up a good five lengths lost and was closing on Patches Kerry and Bubbly King all the way up the home straight but the line came too soon and Winston failed by just two short-heads to peg them back! It was a brave effort from Leathems Desire who has shown in this competition that he has the ability to mix with the best!
