General News

On Monday Oscar (Lima Oscar) had a sprint trial in preparation for a return to competitive action later in February. Leah (Memories Leah) is still recovering from the kennel sickness, whilst Lenny (Droopys Leonard) is enjoying his rest and Horse Outside (estimated to return in March) his convalescence.

Congratulations from all to our very own Tim, who was voted runner up in the GBGB awards for kennel hand of the year. A national competition, so very worthy and deserved recognition.

The Hove Owners Awards night is just around the corner. To date, about forty or so Norahmac crew have booked.  If anyone has yet to make their mind up, crack on as we’re already taking about a third of the available tables. Call Hove Stadium reception, pay by credit card and ask to be in the Norahmac Enclosure, it’s on the evening of Friday, March 1st.

Final preparations are being made to our ‘Prospects for 2013’ piece which is coming soon.

We’re also negotiating with the Sussex-based sage of the (Nevill Road) sands, Mr Marc Yerquard who will suggest selections from the Hove kennel strength, from a punting perspective.

Mr Yerquard has been in the greyhound game since the early ’30’s, and following a sabbatical which ended last summer, is now knee deep in form figures and trial and race results.

The plan is that, as a trial, the suggestions will be freely available to all who drop in to the Norahmac website.

In due course only club members will have access to the selections via a private page on the website though no charge will be made.

Each week, in the Monday/Tuesday update, selections will be nominated for the weeks ahead. It is recommended when the greyhound should be backed to a level stake in it’s next two runs UNLESS it wins first run, and only in the two weeks following it’s nomination.

A running total will be added to collate the ongoing profit/loss on a quarterly basis.

The video archive has been updated. Check out the ‘latest video’ gallery for Wendy’s four recent wins including; £500 Owners Bonus Final, £164  boosted prize money D1 and the club’s fiftieth success. Excellent stuff from the club’s canine queen.
