Now that the Derby trials are concluded Norah is really hopeful that we will get our trials this week, so it’s fingers crossed. Both Black Ace Mac (Rumble) and Fleetwood Mac (Woody) are due to have a spin on Wednesday morning, that is assuming there is space in what will be a busy trials morning. Horse Outside (Gino) should be ready to trial by Saturday following completion of the antibiotics.

Earlier in the evening Pigalle Star, already a two time winner of this trophy, has a favourites chance to get through to the final. Berthed in blue in the 7.58pm, she attempts to win a sixteenth Open at Romford on the way to getting into the line-up for Friday’s £750 final.

The Sky cameras are at Hove on Tuesday (10th) and Sizzlers Spirit aims for back to back Sky wins in the hurdle at 8.15pm. In the 10.20pm Mauger Major lines up in the veterans’ contest seeking a hat-trick, following his recent win in a similar contest at Sittingbourne last week and an A2 win at Wimbledon.

The Derby heats take place at the weekend and best of luck to connections of Norah’s runners but especially to club members; Bob and Sam with Roseville Tiny, and Gary and his crew with Rally Town.

Social Event Round Up and General News

All members who attended the WGOA dinner dance seemed to have a good evening with plenty of money raised for the association and Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare.

WGOA chairman Bob Boswell hosted the auction and found his wife Paula splashing out for the Norah Mac owners club membership on offer. With the proceeds going to the charities, the money will be put to good use and Paula is welcomed on board as our latest recruit.

Sunday (8th) morning was pretty hectic at the kennels. Members enjoyed Floyd and Debbie’s hospitality, celebrating the first birthday of their syndicate’s pups, Coolavanny Keira and Kayla.

Also a very nice young man from the Surrey Herald came to visit and take a picture or two. All credit to Tim in his attempts to digest the barrage of information an enthusiastic group of members were eager to share. We look forward to seeing his article in the next few weeks.
