Wednesday Hove ‘Double’ For Team Mac!
‘COOLSCART HAWK’ AND ‘ZARA TWO’ ARE BACK ON THE WINNERS ROSTRUM!
It was great to see the ‘ Hawk’ and Zara Two back to winning ways today! Coolscart Hawk has only recently returned from a seven month break after injury while Zara Two has only just returned from four months off! Great training effort by Norah and the team!
Wednesday 11th June HOVE Report
Winners
The last win for COOLSCART HAWK came on the 20th of July 2013 when he completed a Hove hat-trick! Off the track for seven months the ‘Hawk’ has hinted at a return to winning ways in recent runs and produced a strong finish to lead on the run-in to win the A7 at 2-47. Owned by Dave Reynolds, Floyd Williams, Gary Maunders and Bob Enright the January 2011 son of Westmead Hawk clocked 30.95 (-10) 30.85 calculated when beating the Claude Gardiner trained Attractive Lady by 3/4 of a length. The 4/1 shot has now won 7 races with all his wins coming at Hove!
ZARA TWO was runner-up last time out but went one place better today when winning the D1 at 3-48. The February 2011 son of Premier Fantasy last won on the 2nd January so after four months out his owners Janet Mallot, Norah McEllistrim, Alan Spriggs and Carol Spriggs will be happy with this victory! After a quick break he led all the way beating the Wayne Wrighting trained Oonah by a length and a quarter! Clocking 16.62 (-5) 16.57 calculated the 3/1 shot was winning for the 17th time. 16 of those wins coming at Hove with the other in a Poole inter-track Bags Championship race!
How Our Other Runners Fared
The Norah Mac Racing Club was represented with two runners today and it was Classy Molly who went closest to winning when beaten just over 1/2 a length in the A5 at 5-56. She held every chance when clocking a decent 30.38 (Normal) behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Guinness Flash.
Droopys Leonard showed early pace in the A5 at 5-07 and he led to 1/2 way. He was baulked at the third bend and clocked 30.79 (Normal) when finishing 6th three and a half lengths behind the winner Riverside Belle who is trained by Jason Heath.
Intayacynthia was 2nd on her last run and confirmed that form when runner-up again today in the A6 at 5-38. Connections will be heartened with this run as Intayacynthia challenged from the third bend and was only beaten 3/4 of a length by the Doreen Walsh trained winner Express Cupid. Intayacynthia clocked 30.64 (Normal).
Athlacca Olympic was sent off the 2/1 favourite for the A3 at 6-11 but was unable to land the odds after making a slow start! He clocked 30.36 (Normal) when finishing 4th two and a half lengths behind the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Woodmancote Tim.
We had two runners line up for the A5 at 4-27 and it was Lobelia who came out best of our pair but her effort was not good enough to win the race! She was quick away and led to the 3/4 mark when finishing 3rd clocking 30.65 (-10) 30.55 calculated just over a length behind the Jason Heath trained winner Katies Causeway. The youngster Fine Royal was slow away and crowded on the run-up and again at half way when 6th clocking 30.79 (-10) 30.69 calculated a further two lengths behind.
Avit On Elsie was slow away and raced wide in the A11 at 3-28. ‘Elsie’ clocked 31.65 (-10) 31.55 calculated when finishing 6th around ten lengths behind the winner Clairkeith Boo who is trained by Claude Gardiner.
