EIGHT RUNNERS ON THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON HOVE CARD

Wednesday 25th November 2015  –  HOVE Runners

Ballymac_ChinditROCKMOUNT ROBBEN (Rocky))

              Ballymac Chindit                                                   Rockmount Robben

The form of BALLYMAC CHINDIT has been a little up and down lately mainly because he keeps finding ‘trouble’ in running! He was well beaten in runs against Awbeg Lady and Slanestown Jacko but the December 12 son of Ace Hi Rumble ran much better when finishing 4th to Ballymac Pod on the 11th November. But he again found trouble in running when finishing 6th to Newtown Skipdots last Wednesday and desperately needs a clear run in the A5 at 2-08 where kennel mate ROCKMOUNT ROBBEN will be in opposition! He opened his Hove account when winning an A5 in good style on the 15th November! The September 2013 son of Westmead Hawk showed good pace down the back straight and led at the fourth bend when beating  Pollards Billy just over a length! He was unable to follow up in A4 grade last Saturday finishing a well beaten 6th to Woodmancote Lass but ‘Rocky’ now gets a drop in grade and should have every chance!

SIZZLERS APOLLO bounced back to form with a convincing win on the 13th November where he clocked 16.40 when beating Sister Tootsie just over two lengths in D1 grade! The September 13 son of Droopys Scolari was a 10/1 chance for a D1 Sprint Sprint last Friday and despite being baulked at the first bend he was only beaten two lengths when finishing 4th to Your Decision. Sizzlers Apollo would have a good chance in the D1 Sprint at 2-47 if he avoids any hold-ups!

CAUSEILOVEYOU has been running very consistently but is struggling to get his head in front where it matters! The July 12 son of College Causeway ran well behind Time To Begin in A5 grade on the 30th October. He was unable to take advantage of a drop in grade for an A6 on the 7th November and finished 5th to Varra Diamond after finding trouble at the first bend! He suffered the same ‘fate’ in an A6 on his latest outing when finishing 5th to Thanks Roulette. A recent 480 metre solo Trial at Wimbledon may have sharpened him up for the A6 at 3-28.

DROOPYS RIVES 2

Droopys Rives

DROOPYS RIVES has been in fair form and was a good 2nd to Sister Tootsie in a D1 Sprint on the 25th October! The July 13 son of Westmead Hawk finished a decent 4th beaten just over a length by Dimyourlights in a D1 Sprint on the 8th November and he held every chance when 3rd to Sizzlers Apollo on the 13th November! ‘River’ suffered crowding when beaten 3/4 of a length by Champagne Mel last Friday and he should run well in the D1 Sprint at 5-07 where he lines up alongside kennel mate DRAGON  OVERLORD who is in equally good form! The July 2014 son of Tullymurry Act failed to get a clear run when 4th beaten two and a half lengths by Geneva Colin on the 15th November but the youngster held every chance when finishing 3rd beaten one and a half lengths by Bogcross Fish last Saturday!

INTAYACYNTHIA was sent off the 7/4 favourite when given a drop in grade for an A11 on the 11th November but despite making a quick break she suffered crowding and finished 3rd behind Gambles Winner. The October 10 daughter of Kryptonite was beaten just over a length on that occasion and she held every chance when finishing 4th beaten just under three lengths by Tour De France last Wednesday. She now runs in the A11 at 5-38.

ABBEYS ZENYATTA bounced back to form when beating Coolykereen Pipe by a head in A7 grade on the 5th November but the April 13 daughter of Droopys Kewel was unable to follow up in A6 grade after suffering crowding and finishing 5th to Ballycanal Dan. She was badly baulked at the first bend in A6 grade last Saturday and was beaten just over nine lengths by Dunham Prince but is given a drop in grade for the A7 at 6-11.

Mick McCrory stepped up to 475 metres for the first time at Hove in the CORAL.CO.UK MAIDEN 475 on the 12th November and ran really well when finishing 3rd beaten just under three lengths by the Len Ponder owned winner Lenson Santi. Calm Precision has since clocked 27.22 in a 450 metre solo Trial at Poole and now lines up for the CORAL.CO.UK 475 Open Race along with kennel mate INDEPENDENT JACK who had been running well for the Norah Mac Racing Club until he was stopped in his tracks last weekend! ‘Jack’ was crowded on the run-up and very badly baulked at the first bend and was beaten over ten lengths by Liosgarbh Maybe in A4 grade last Sunday! Previous to that run he had clocked 30.33 when caught in the last strides and beaten 1/2 a length by Last Legs. The August 2013 son of Kinloch Brae runs Hove’s 475 metres for the first time and the trip should suit him!

COOLOGUE GEM had recently competed in two Staying Open races and the November 11 daughter of Seventh Jet was always going to appreciate the 695 metres in S2 grade last Saturday. She had run well over the trip when 3rd to the Kevin Hutton trained Jet Stream Trail and the Dave Staddon owned stayer ran on well to beat Clairkeith Tilda by a short-head! Kennel mate RACENIGHT TRISH showed promise when stepping up to 695 metres for the CORAL.CO.UK STAYERS – Duplicated Open race at Hove on the 29th October where the February 13 daughter of Head Bound finished 2nd to the John Mullins trained Dashing Star and she held every chance when finishing in 5th place beaten two and a half lengths by Coologue Gem last Saturday! The ‘pair’ meet again in the HOVE THURSDAY NIGHT 500 STAYERS – HEAT 1 Open Race where a first three finish would see them both qualify for next Thursdays Final.

Back in Open company for the HOVE THURSDAY NIGHT 500 MAIDEN – Heat 2 last Thursday he was sent off the 7/4 favourite and showing superb early pace he led all the way to beat his kennel mate Saleen Vic by a length and a half! Clocking 29.85 calculated the December 12 son of Skywalker Puma owned by Dave and Joy Cook goes into tonights Final as the fastest qualifier! SALEEN VIC had impressed in his Trials and was put straight into A1 grade for his Hove debut on the 31 October where the September 13 son of Ballymac Vic owned by Mr J. A. Yelding  finished a well beaten 6th to Loughteen Pedro. He was sent off a 7/2 chance for a competitive A1 on the 14th November but made a slow start and finished 4th to Sleepy JoeJoe. GLENVALE STEVIE 6

Glenvale Stevie

Race 9      9-40      285 Metres Flat  (OR)

HOVE THURSDAY NIGHT 500 SPRINT – HEAT 1
1st, 2nd & 3rd in each heat qualify for the final on Thurs 3rd December
1st £200, Others £40

Trap  1  BROADWAY TURBINE              Sean White   (Unattached)
Trap  2  WHILEYOUWAIT                         Derek Knight
Trap 3  SPARTA FLAME                       Norah McEllistrim
Trap  4  LENSON WALCOTT  (M)          Jason Foster   (Wimbledon)
Trap 5  GLENVALE STEVIE  (M)         Norah McEllistrim
Trap  6  ZENAS BOY  (W)                        Gemma Davidson   (Crayford)

SPARTA FLAME was was beaten one length by the Derek Knight trained Whileyouwait when returning to action on the 14th November. The December 11 son of Ballymac Maeve owned by Mr D. A. Heron, Mr P. Penfold and Mr H. Penfold comfortably reversed that form with Whileyouwait when finishing 2nd to the talented Comrades All in Open class last Thursday! Sparta Flame clocked 16.33 finishing just one length behind the winner and he will be looking to produce another decent run in a hot looking HOVE THURSDAY NIGHT 500 SPRINT – HEAT 1 Open Race where a first three finish would see him qualify to next Thursdays Final. Kennel mate GLENVALE STEVIE had been running really well lately without managing to get his head in front! But the November 11 son of Paddys Flame took his chance when a late addition to a D1 Sprint last Sunday! Owned by the Norahmacnuggets syndicate he made the most of the cahance and ran out a very easy winner! Sent off the 6/4 favourite he ran on strongly to beat Vivendi Lewis by two and a quarter lengths! This is much tougher with the likes of Zenas Boy, Sparta Flame and Whileyouwait but ‘Stevie’ could well take advantage of any slip ups and grab a qualifying place!
