Weekend review 19th to 22th
Wendy (Hanover Lady) and Oscar (Lima Oscar) ran fair races in defeat last Thursday (19th April). Both, somewhat highly tried, put in rounds that demonstrated their continued overall well-being. They will win in their turn but need a little leniency from the grader.
Lenny (Droopys Leonard) duly delivered the goods in his run on Friday’s lunchtime BAGS card. Clocking a session fastest 30.17 calculated, our recent Sheffield sales purchase showed himself to be a pup full of potential. Whilst there was trouble at the first bend, Lenny had already pinged the lids and displayed sharp early pace to secure a clear lead by the turn. From there on he was in splendid isolation, staying on strongly enough to the line. A fine performance, he looks a top class prospect for the months ahead.
Unfortunately Horse Outside took a tumble on the first bend, following scrimaging in his A4 on Saturday night. He was up quick enough, chasing the field well enough through to the pick up. At time of writing seemingly none the worse for the experience.
Woody (Fleetwood Rocker) put up a very sound display chasing home the in-form Puma Girl in his A3. He ran on strongly in the latter stages and, whilst never able to get on terms with the pinging (4.08 sectional) winner, had plenty in hand of the rest of the field. Those that followed the preview ‘hint’ were rewarded with a £16.71p forecast!
