Club rep Barbara (second right), receives Wendy’s Owners Bonus Trophy with Norah (left).

Wendy (Hanover Lady) well and truly did ‘the business’ on Saturday, copping a ‘monkey (£500)’ and landing the Owner’s Bonus Trophy in all the way style.

A flying start saw our blue heroine claiming the lead early doors and she never looked in danger, with the race in the bag entering the home straight.  A great night for Norah, accompanied by our locally-based club representative Barbara, as they received the trophy, jacket and rosette at the podium presentation.

An honourable mention to Lenny (Droopys Leonard) who posted a decent time going down a short head in his A4 on Sunday. Beaten by a whisker,  he’s going to have to stop shaving!

Another reminder for owners that the kennels are open on Christmas Day but visiting is recommended between 10.00am and noon to enable the kennel team an opportunity to get back to their families for their Christmas dinners.

Remember also subs for 2013/14 paid before December 31st are reduced (from £300) by £50 to £250 for existing members. New members, for £300, gain a bonus two months (January and February 2013) by paying early – giving them fourteen months for the price of twelve! Cheques – payable to Norahmac Racing Club, or cash to Norah, Dave or Ross.

The kennel hits the high notes for Retired Greyhound Trust night this Saturday, December 15th.

The Norahmac crew are sponsoring two races on the card, proceeds benefiting the Brighton Retired Greyhounds . It’ll a be a great atmosphere on the night, with some runners and hopefully winners to add to the occasion. The more the merrier when it comes to the Norahmac podium presentations!

Trackside action for club runners begins with Lenny (Droopys Leonard) attempting to grab A4 glory in the 12.12pm. A whisker from victory last week, Lenny looks to have a decent chance given the make up of this contest.  The weather is set to change with heavy rain due on Friday, so earlier results could be an additional pointer, either way, given Lenny’s wide navigation of the Nevill Road sands.

Friday evening’s Christmas Special card has Horse Outside, entered to run from trap two, in the A4 at 8.41pm.

It’s an Open race jamboree for the Club come the week-end. Wendy (Hanover Lady) takes her place in a very hot Sprint Open on Hove’s Sunday card. Our heroine runs from trap two and with a decent break may gain a challenging position but a career best may be required to take the trophy. Fingers crossed.

Horse Outside has an engagement in the 9.12pm at Sittingbourne, a semi- final with the first three going through.

It’s an all Open card at the Kent venue and the kennel has a sackful of runners. Roger Cearns, the track promoter, is leading the way with prize money, offering £50 run money as well as enhanced win money for all races on the night.
