Review – Lenny storms home!

All the plaudits go to Lenny (Droopys Leonard) who showed a clean set of paws in storm force wind and rain, winning his A4 on Sunday.  Conditions were foul come the start of the contest but Lenny, the 2-1 favourite, made all beating not only his five rivals but also the elements.

Wendy (Hanover Lady) ran well in defeat. Wendy was really up against it with some decent Open class rivals in Saturday evening’s sprint. Our blue girl, recovering from a tardy start took fourth place – winning what was effectively the graded section of the heat.

There’s quite a gathering of club members and owners set to travel to Henlow on for greyhound sales on Sunday. Socially, it will be an informal affair whilst we watch the sales’ trials before the auctions in the afternoon.

Proceedings will kick off about 1100am ish with the sales commencing around 100pm. Refeshments are available throughout the dayat the track. Currently norahmac connections number around twenty.

It’s a great day out whether buying, window shopping or just watching the thrills and excitement of  a fast paced auction, with Norah and Brian likely to make a splash of some kind at some point.

Horse Outside takes his chance in the A4 at 3.07pm on Wednesday’s BAGS card. Our son of True Honcho, sporting the red jacket will, nevertheless,  need the breaks in an open looking contest that has a couple of pacey sorts who also take a rails to middle line.

Seemingly Wendy (Hanover Lady) has a well deserved week off as the only other club action this week features Oscar (Lima Oscar) and Lenny (Droopys Leonard) competing on Saturday evening’s card.

Oscar, having his sixth race of the month including an A7 victory on the 9th, has another A7 poke at 8.51pm. A sponsored race and the stripes, so could Oscar secure another trophy victory for the club?  The heat is mostly comprised of novices so Oscar may make his, not inconsiderable, experience tell.

The 9.07pm, A3, has Lenny benefiting from a sole wide seeding. In an interestingly framed contest, our recent winner has three newbies to his immediate inside, a strong classy stayer in two (Avit On Bertha) and a classy fast starter in one (Parkwest Angel)  who doesn’t fully see out the standard trip. Optimistically a good case can be made for Lenny to go close.

At the time of writing the suggested financial interest would be six and one reversed forecast, six and two reversed forecast and a six, two, one combination tricast!

All profits to be reinvested in new purchases at Henlow on Sunday!!
