How Our Other Runners Fared
GRANSON LUCA has been running well and the February 2012 son of Blackstone Gene had won two of his last four races! He led on the run-in to beat Alist Kattrina by a length in A9 grade on the 6th December but despite escaping a penalty he was unable to follow up when 3rd to Miss Jolly last Friday. He held every chance in the A9 at 7-46 but was beaten just over four lengths by the Derek Knight trained Winetavern Spy. Clocking 31.34 (-20) 31.14 calculated Granson Luca finished in 3rd place!
BALLYMAC CHINDIT clocked a decent 30.56 when finishing 2nd to kennel mate Rockmount Robben on the 25th November and the December 12 son of Ace Hi Rumble held every chance clocking 30.83 when 4th to Nods Mary Sharp on the 4th December! Sadly he faded after suffering crowding at the second bend in the A5 at 8-02 and finished lame in 6th place. He will be checked over by the physio today.
DROOPYS TOMFORD clocked 30.12 when beaten two lengths by Droopys Thunder in a Hove Open in September and clocked 30.44 when finishing 2nd to Crossfield Zues in a two-dog Trial on the 14th November. However the September 13 son of Droopys Woods owned by the Norah Mac Racing Club has not been able to produce that form on his three runs since returning from injury! A 7/1 chance for the A3 at 8-34 he missed his break and suffered crowding clocking 31.05 (-20) 30.85 calculated when finishing 6th beaten seven lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Ballymac Pod.
BABY GOLD ran well when 3rd clocking 30.65 calculated beaten less than two lengths by Next Customer in A6 grade on the 6th December! Given a drop in grade for an A7 last Friday the February 13 daughter of Droopys Scolari was baulked at the first bend and beaten four lengths by Gemini Dancer. Baby Gold needed to avoid any ‘trouble’ in the A7 at 9-24 but unfortunately that didn’t happen! Unable to gain a good position she was badly baulked at the first bend and also baulked at the second and third! Beaten just over eleven lengths Baby Gold clocked 31.49 (-10) 31.39 calculated when finishing 5th to Guinness Moon who is trained by Seamus Cahill.
MINEOLA STRIDER finished in 4th place clocking 30.89 when beaten just under five lengths by Swift Maddy in A5 grade last Friday. The September 13 son of Shaneboy Lee had clocked 16.29 in a Sprint Trial when returning from injury and lined up for the D1 Sprint at 9-40. After making a slow start he was baulked at the second bend and finished in 5th place clocking 16.91 (-5) 16.86 calculated when beaten just over five lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained Brother Harry.
SIZZLERS PUMA finished 2nd to Castleview Jake in A1 grade at Hove on the 10th December and was 4th to Crossfield Cesar in a Heat of the Coral Olympic last Sunday! The December 12 son of Skywalker Puma was sent off the 3/1 favourite for the A1 at 9-56 and ran well when beaten just 1/2 a length by the Wayne Wrighting trained Castleview Jake. Sizzlers Puma could be counted a little unlucky after suffering crowding at the third bend and on the run-in clocking 30.41 (-10) 30.31 calculated in 3rd place!
COOLOGUE GEM appreciated the step up to 695 metres when winning an S2 at Hove on the 21st November where she beat Clairkeith Tilda by a short-head. The November 11 daughter of Seventh Jet ran on well to finish 2nd clocking 30.38 when beaten a short-head by Evanta Candyman in A5 grade last Saturday but was back over 695 metres for the S2 at 10-11. Behind in the early stages she slowly worked herself into the race and she stayed on well to grab 2nd place clocking 42.16 (-15) 42.01 calculated beaten just two lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained Clairkeith Tilda.
AVIT ON ELSIE ran well when dropped into A8 grade on the 9th December finishing a close 3rd to Leamaneigh Cash. The July 12 daughter of Eden Brett was never better than mid-field when beaten four lengths by Swift Andora on her latest outing but she was made a 3/1 co-favourite of three for the A8 at 10-26. ‘Elsie’ made a great start on the outside but suffered crowding at the second bend and again on the run-in! Clocking 31.18 (-10) 31.08 calculated she finished in 5th place beaten three and a half lengths by the Ken Tester trained Maglass Brae.

MINEOLA PROF is a very consistent performer and he led all the way to beat Tyrur Celena just over two lengths on the 6th December! Up in grade for an A4 last Friday the May 12 son of College Causeway ran well, clocking a decent 30.53 sec, when 3rd to Auldworth Lad. Mineola Prof runs in the A4 grade Owners Bonus Series – Heat 2 at 5-22 where a first 3 finish would see him qualify for the Final on Saturday 26th December!

Kennel mate SIZZLERS APOLLO is also in the line-up and the September 13 son of Droopys Scolari was a good winner in this grade on the 6th December where he led all the way to beat Farloe Comet by a length and a half clocking 16.45 sec. He found trouble in running when finishing 5th to Southern Calum on his latest run but like ‘Stevie’ he would have every chance on his best form!
