Woody (Fleetwood Rocker/Mac) has got into the line up for the heats of the Champion Hurdle.  There are three heats, with the first two from each going through to the £1,500 Final on Derby final night, June 11th.

Woody runs in Heat One at 8.45. He is the only seeded middle/wide runner and is boxed in trap6. With all the other runners effectively rails to middle it could turn out to be a scrappy affair.

The trap 4 runner, Olivers Twist, posted an exception trial time a couple of weeks back and could be the main danger. Woody has plenty to do with the shape of the draw but, given that he does possess a decent turn of foot from the traps, he may be able to avoid the likely first bend scrimmaging.

In any event, having made the line-up, and his participation, assures him of regular entry into other decent class hurdle events whatever happens Saturday.

Sky Sports 4 cover the meeting so those that can’t get to the track can still see Woody take his chance. That said it’s likely to be a scintillating race. There’s a really decent supporting card (with a number of high profile Norah-runners on show) and a trip trackside is highly recommended.

For the record Norah passes on the news that Woody’s name change is being processed but currently it’s taking about two months name changes to be validated.

Gino (Horse Outside) lines up in an A5 on Friday, 9.30pm.  He’s in trap 5 again – with the six-dog a very wide runner and those berthed inside no great shakes, he’s fancied to go close with a clear round.

The very best of luck to Cloheena Cash, his connections and the kennel team for tonight’s (Tuesday) Derby quarter final.  The son of 2008 son of Crash runs in the final heat against Razldazl George, the outright second favourite, a big odds on chance for the race.

That said ‘Johnny’ is in the form of his life at the moment with every chance of getting into the frame for a place in the semis. Fingers crossed.

Thursday has promising youngster, Zodiac Zeus, take a look at Hove in a division of the Olympic Trials.

Norah has three contenders in the Derby Plate heats on Saturday. Rally Town lines up in the second heat, whilst Roseville Tiny and Broadstrand Bill contest the third heat.

Star hurdler, Sizzler Spirit, lines up in Heat 3 of the Champion Hurdle.

Saturday is a really big night for the kennel with so many of our hotshots having a go at some decent prizes on one of the biggest nights of the greyhound calendar.

Good luck to them all and most of all lets see them all back safe and sound.
