SATURDAY WINS FOR ‘SHYAN ZIPPY’ – ‘ANOTHER ME’ & ‘SPARTA FLAME’

Saturday 29th August 2015  –  HOVE Report

Winners

SHYAN ZIPPY returned from injury on the 23rd August after an almost three months break! The May 11 daughter of Tullymurry Act was baulked and crowded in an A11 Owners Bonus Series Heat and finished well beaten in 6th place! She was sent off the 10/1 outsider of the party for the A11 at 7-31 but she came from last to first to spark a treble for Norah! Owned by Mr N. C. D. Hall Shyan Zippy was slow away but led at the fourth bend and stayed on well to beat the Doreen Walsh trained Killeacle Lulu by a length! ‘Zippy’ clocked 31.33 (-20) 31.13 calculated when winning for the 6th time at Hove! She also has a Limerick win on her card!

ANOTHER ME

Another Me  –  Won 3 of his last 4 races!

Swift Messi is an owners delight winning 31 races in an amazing career covering 189 runs! The SWIFT MESSI 3-IN-A-ROW STAKES (D2 Sprint) at 7-46 was run in his honour for completing a hat-trick of wins in July! But there was no fairy tale outcome as ‘Lionel’ was beaten by his up an coming kennel mate ANOTHER ME. The February 14 son of Shaneboy Lee is going the right way and has won 3 of his last 4 races! He got off the mark in D2 grade on the 15th August! He was beaten when upped to Open company over 515 metres next time but was again successful when returning to D2 grade last Wednesday! The Miss C. J. Vogt and Mr P. J . Vogt owned youngster escaped a penalty for that success and was made the 6/4 favourite. Despite making a slow start he duly obliged leading on the run-in to beat the Claude Gardiner trained Rigellian by one length! ‘Monty’ clocked 16.64 (-10) 16.54 calculated (his fastest time) when winning his 3rd race at Hove! Swift Messi was quick away and the September 09 son of Hondo Black held every chance when finishing in 3rd place clocking 16.79 (-10) 16.69 calculated beaten just two lengths by the winner!

SPARTA FLAME had run well in three Open races since joining Norah but the December 11 son of Ballymac Maeve got that illusive first win for his new kennel when successful in the D1 Sprint at 9-24. It was a messy affair with ‘four’ of the dogs falling but take nothing away from the Mr D. A. Heron, Mr B. Penfold and Mr H. Penfold owned winner who led all the way and won on merit! Sparta Flame was returning from injury but he clocked a decent 16.41 sec in a solo trial on Monday! Sent off the 2/1 favourite he showed good early pace and soon led beating the Ken Tester trained Flatcap Man by almost five lengths! He clocked 16.42 (-5) 16.37 calculated when winning for the first time at Hove but for the 18th time in his career! Glenvale Stevie is very useful on his day and has decent wins over 475 metres and 285 metres at Hove! Unfortunately the November 11 son of Paddys Flame was one of the four who fell and he was beaten a distance. Assistant trainer Gemma Byford reported that he had been checked by the Hove vets and seemed to be fine but he will be thoroughly looked over again today!

How Our Other Runners Fared

Causeiloveyou ended a long losing run when getting back to winning ways in A6 grade on the 8th August! The July 12 son of College Causeway followed up that win with a good 2nd when beaten just 3/4 of a length when upped to A5 grade! But he found trouble on his next run and was beaten just under nine lengths! He again suffered crowding in the A5 at 8-34 last night and was held up on the run-up, first, second and fourth bends! He clocked 30.77 (-10) 30.67 calculated when finishing in 4th place beaten just over three lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Maui Mustang.

Avit On Elsie had won twice in five runs since returning from a 7 months absence! The July 12 daughter of Eden Brett loves to run on her own way out ‘wide’ and she came with a late run to lead near the line in A9 grade when winning her 12th race at Hove on Wednesday! ‘Elsie’ was up in grade for the A8 at 9-41 but the 4/1 chance made a slow start and could only manage to finish in 4th place clocking 30.90 (Normal) when beaten just over four lengths by the Wendy Short trained winner Blue Boom.

Sunday 30th August 2015  –  HOVE Runners

GLAISE SPICE

Glaise Spice

Cellini has won 13 races at Hove but the January 2011 daughter of Head Bound won her first ever sprint in June shortly after returning from seasonal rest! Sadly she picked up an injury soon after that success but now returns for the D2 Sprint at 11-11. Glaise Spice won a D2 sprint on the 1st August and didn’t run badly in a Sprint Open next time! The October 13 son of Crash has suffered crowding on his last two outings but he would have every chance if getting a clear run!

Fanore Breeze has been running well since stepping up to 515 metres finishing 2nd twice and winning in good style on the 12th August. The December 12 daughter of Crash was a beaten 2/1 favourite when just failing to get up by 1/2 a length on her latest outing and she should run well in the A6 at 11-42.

Classy Molly (A)

Classy Molly

The Norah Mac Racing Clubs Classy Molly completed her ‘century’ of races when finishing 3rd on her last run! The September 11 daughter of Duke Special was beaten just over two lengths but was baulked at a vital stage and she would have a chance in the A9 at 12-12 if avoiding trouble in running!

BABY GOLD 3

Baby Gold

Baby Gold was a good winner in A6 grade clocking 30.21 sec on the 5th August. The February 13 daughter of Droopys Scolari has suffered crowding when beaten in two runs up in A5 grade and needs a trouble free run in the A5 at 12-41. Mineola Prof has been well beaten in three runs since returning from injury. The May 12 son of College Causeway hasn’t run since the 15th July but he won a three-dog trial in 30.61 sec on Monday!

Hollands Bullet is running better than his form figures show! The April 13 son of Timor Blue wasn’t beaten far when 6th behind kennel mate Ballymac Chindit on the 12th August. He clocked a ‘fair’ 30.54 sec when beaten just over three lengths on his next outing  and he was only beaten one length when finishing 4th on his last run! He runs in the A5 at 12-58.
